I think to follow the mullins/Walsh combo you should end up with at least a treble at the very worst imo!
In the Kinloch Brae- Sub Lieutenant is a worthy fav and will probably win but currently at odds on - is one to take on and try and get beat! The one I do like SMASHING could have done with ground a tad softer but is proven over the trip- drops back in trip after connectinns trying 3m which he didn't stay (in the Lexus ran a lot better than his placings, he was eased down massively and was looked after going in the straight when you New he wasn't going to stay)- have always rated the horse . And will be race fit and ready to run a big race
GROUND HURLER out again tomorrow 19.16@Hove(no price yet) is in its favoured T5 so no excuses - was unlucky lto but shouldn't get in to traffic problems this time and is expected to win!
Black Hercules to return to form today, unless Mullins has the butt plug in with a handicap at Cheltenham/national in mind
Hello, team. Hope everyone well. What about that Hunters Chase at Thurles today then (the ‘lucky last’, 4.00)?!? Cor bally blinkin’ blimey, say I. Corking contest. I’m not backing it but the one who stands out at that meet, to my eye, is HOLLOW TREE (1.45) who returns to the track after 642 days and is now in the Michael Hourigan barn. When trained on this side of the Irish Sea Hollow Tree was a 3 time winner over hurdles including at Grade 1 level. Amazing to think then that the old boy gets into today’s heat off just 109, I say, 109! That’s quite a fall from his peak of 142 back in 2013. The previously mentioned Hourigan stable are also in very decent form with 3 out of their last 6 runners obliging. Also eye-catching to note that the Ruby boy has been booked to do the saddle monkeying duties re this one. This may be little more than a ‘prep’ for something else but Hollow Tree is deffo one to look out for today and for the rest of the campaign. Good luck, troops.
2:00 Sophisticated Heir Apart from reminding me of the landed gentry, morning Barney btw, this horse has rock solid claims and whilst being much shorter this morning I still want to bring it to the forums attention. Strong travelling, but often doesn't find as much as promised, like a tourist visiting stonehenge. However at Southwell the strong travelling should really help him and he can win against a modest bunch.
Been a while on the info front but Lily Cliff expected to win the 1 30 Southwell. 10/1. Very highly thought of still. Night Lily & Canford Cliffs produce, depends how it handles southwell. Add it to the notebook regardless as bigger things expected this season. Very green last year should do better now handicapping. and this is one **** race Be warned though, my luck is awful at the moment really awful, if i do each way it comes 4th if i do win it comes 2nd, that sort of luck, hopefully as this isn't my pick or tip it will win!
Properly rank race is that, and also worth noting that Paddy Power are doing an additional place offer
Shouldn’t Paddy Power do their additional plaice offer on a Friday?!? I realise that humorous little quip works far, far, far better in the spoken form but it had to be posted. Roast Chicken, roast potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Quick quiz quest, people - a Barney Bonus to the first correct answer. Alary will debut for Colin Tizzard in the ‘Peter Marsh Handicap Chase’ at Haydock on Saturday. He will run off 162. In the last 10 years how many horses have won a Handicap Chase over 3 miles+, in this Isle, off a perch in excess of 161???
