    I can only recall the upper,middle and lower compass pubs.

    They must of been near the Vetch? Dylan Thomas used to drink in the London as it was part of the Mumbles mile.

    Swansea had more pubs and clubs than the average but now it has more charity shops and bookies and boarded up pubs and shops than your average but the SA1 project has been a success story...

    When you look back over the past in this city we had communities who drank in pubs enjoyed a game of cards or darts. Young and old alike they were the hub of society. We celebrated Christmas together and enjoyed bus trips from pubs to events like the races,sports events or days out. The new arrivals to the city do not like this culture and it will die out over time. Which will leave an insular and suspicious society in which no one trusts each other. Much the same as these people left to come here in the first place.

    That pic of the London looks a lot like the Swansea jack pub near the vetch on oyster mouth rd ?

    I remember the Cuba and the Rutland arms. My favorite was the No 10 I used to have Cottage pie and chips for lunch from my Saturday job in Tescos on the Kingsway.
