Hello All! As we are three Saints fans (Me, Matt and Tom) who are interested in Journalism and are looking to get into it, we are considering starting up 'The1976 Magazine'. If we continue to push on with creating the magazine what would you guys want to see within it? Also would anyone be interested in writing articles for the mag? Very early stages at the moment but would be very interested to hear your views! Cheers! Connor, Matt and Tom.
Sounds a great idea, I would be interested in making any articles if given the opportunity. Things that I think would be good to see is an article on an academy player, fan match reviews, memoirs of previous days (I love listening to the 50+ fans ), and it would be good to get a degree of humour as well as the kind of intelligence that decent fanzines like "When Saturday Comes" has. Keep us posted with what is going on with this, good luck guys
Well we are all young ones so to speak so an 'experienced' writer would be very welcomed, we have already bagged an interview with a Saints player.

I would be interested in simply writing an article of basically 'free reign', just on something about Saints relevant to the occurences of the week, if allowed. I could show something I done last year purely to see if you like my writing style. Also I know a suitable number of oldies to potentially do interviews with a few on a particular subject of previous or current times (or both in comparison). Anyway, utilise me at your will (and I am sure that whatever is produce it would be better than the shocking magazine the club used to publish).
I wouldn't mind seeing profiles on the younger players (ie. players who could potentially become 1st teamers, such as James Ward-Prowse)
I have spoken to a certain Alex Chamberlain so i have an interview which can be used in the first issue.
Don't know where you plucked Saville from but we have spoken to Chamberlain and he was quite hospitable with helping, also spoken to a couple of Academy lads are also offering to do interviews at some stage.
Anyone who is interested write a few articles about southampton things. Then get back to me with them, its not going to be a quick thing but hoping it will be ready for August. Any donations to help with costs would be appreciated.
One thing you will need to be wary of is how the players come across in their interviews. The club will soon block their availability if they deem them unsuitable. Not wanting to put the mockers on it mind.
