    Thats because he is on nearly twice what Vertonghen gets paid already.
    Toby = 75k pw
    Vert = 40k pw

    Apparently it's because he wants to have a release clause and Levy won't have them.
    They're not beneficial to the club in any way, so I can't really argue with that.

    They are, because if you put one in, you get to keep the player.
    I would never sign a professional contract without a release clause.
    The club could make it high as **** to make sure they are compensated, but going in without a release clause just causes **** like what we are seeing now with VVD, Coutinho, Sanchez, Rose etc.

    That's not a real benefit. At the very least, it's heavily weighted to the player.
    I wouldn't sign anyone with a buy-back clause, either. They shouldn't be allowed.

    Sorry mate. But I think if Dele goes it'll be to Spain. Both Real and Barca are reputedly interested. And, if he does go, it would suit the club to sell him abroad.

    Are you being serious?

    ****ing hell.

    The story went out in yesterday's copy of The Sun. Which means it was printed and in shops yesterday morning before training started. Which means there is a chance the players saw the story and talked about it at training.

    Not saying the story is true but of course it's plausible you idiot.

    Yeah, I know, hence the laugh.

    I just can't see Levy agreeing to sell him to any PL rival.

    Could we interest you in a slightly used Moussa Sissoko, though? Reasonably priced.*

    *All offers are subject to current ridiculous price trends and may be changed at any time. So **** ya.

    Because they allow clubs with ridiculous advantages to take the piss out of everyone else.
    They're all reward and no risk.

    Wow take it easy old timer - just using the same **** logic that was thrown at Arsenal by Spurs fans in the past when we were having to sell players.
    It seems you boys like to dish it out but can't take anything back.

    Watching bigger clubs take your best players whilst you defend Levy to the hilt, will be hilarious.

    Perhaps we should go in for Kane so that he can play for his boyhood team

    But without the clause, the smaller club would never have been sold the player in the first place......

    I think that you mean larger club.
    That's up to them. That doesn't mean that they should be able to insert unreasonable clauses into everything.

    If its unreasonable, the buying club doesnt need to accept.
    They can look elsewhere.

    Or we can ban them because they're crap and anti-competitive. I prefer my version.
