The biggest complaints that I've heard are that it's soulless, quite a trek to get to and there's no facilities on the way to it. It seems to be about a 20 minute walk from any station, for some reason. Haven't been, myself. Away fans have also pointed out the lack of segregation once you leave the ground, which has led to issues for some of them. The location seems to make it difficult for the police to separate the home and away fans.
It's a terrible stadium, given it is unfit for the purpose as a football stadium - but I'm sure none of that matters to the Scammers, Seb Coent or Boris Johnson as they got what they wanted.
I went to the Olympic Stadium 3 times. It was located in the middle of a park, so that families could enjoy a whole day out on a sunny London day. It was a great experience although the witch-in-law just managed to survive the walk to the tube station after coming to watch one evening On a wet and windy night, it's a chore to get to and from and a nightmare to police. During the time it was designed to be used, it'll be shut, apart from one day that will cost £5m, on top of the £1 billion we've been charged to date. Still, someone's going to get an annual contract of £4m to move some seats out and back in the sun. Nice work if you can get it. What's the bet it's awarded on 'dodgy' terms to someone's cousin or fellow Lodge member?
I've been twice and it's a good 20 minutes walk from the train station, firstly through the huge shopping centre and then out into an almost barren area of wasteland. After the game, they usher you away from the shopping centre and direct you through more wasteland to the trains where a queueing system operates. If you don't get away a couple of minutes before the final whistle, the delays are intolerable. There are outside bars around the stadium perimeter where the prices differ from 10 meteres away inside the stadium. I do quite like the floodlight structure where the lights seem to "lean" over the pitch, but the rest is like the new Wembley and is impossible to get a real atmosphere going. Plenty of leg room in the seats though. I wasn't there for a Spammers game, I was there for England rugby league internationals in 2015 and2016.
£40,000 a week but apparently can't afford to hail a cab West Ham's motto should just be changed to: "Stupid is as stupid does".
HMRC capacity: 60,000 (same as the Emirates, by the way...) Wembley capacity: 90,000 He'll feel extra stupid when Spurs play back-to-back seasons in two stadiums which are both bigger than that taxpayer-scamming pisspot of theirs
He's getting slaughtered by all manner of fans, be they West Scam... ...Spurs... ...Chelsea... ...Southampton... ...Watford... ...Palace... ...Huddersfield... ...Djurgardens... ...and even Wembley!
All we need now is for him to go "full metal" merchandising garb like Ty on ArsenalFanTV to complete the delusion.
Dimitri Payet says he had to leave West Ham or risk his career going backwards. The 29-year-old attacking midfielder joined Marseille in January. (L'Equipe - in French)
Dimitri Payet... "With West Ham at home against Hull, we won 1-0 and they hit the post four times, In the changing room everyone was happy, but the the man of the match that day was the post. They didn't even buy the ****ing post, I did.
I thought that him leaving had more to do with him allegedly getting a fan in the "club" (and I don't mean he got her free tickets). All total hearsay and unfounded allegations of course.
I paid for that post. It's mine. He can insert some of his larger products into the orifice he talks out of.
