Starts tomorrow, Birkdale usually throws up scores around Par to win it... Friday will be interesting driving rain and 25mph winds forecast. I've had 4 bets for an interest, Tomas Pieters (always back him) , Matsuyama (an Asian has to win a major sometime), Tommy Fleetwood (has local course probably played it more than all the others put together) Francesco Molinari (massive price at 100/1)..

Went to Birkdale when Baker-Finch won and later when Mark O'meara won....As the course is overlooked by sand dunes it is probably the best course in the UK to spectate. Far better than say Sandwich, Lytham, or The Belfry which are as flat as a witches tit. Anyone going for the 4 days will be in for a treat.

I have a feeling Lee Westwood might just do it, it's about time he got a major under his belt.
