Has English football gone totally bonkers ? The draw for the first round of the League Cup (now called the Carabao Cup) - (thought that was a kind of elk) has been made in Bangkok of all places, because the sponsering firm (Carabao, a soft drinks firm) are based there. They managed to make a complete cock up of it and drew Charlton out twice ! According to their original schedule Charlton have to play Exeter away and Cheltenham at home on the same day ! Obviously the Thai's don't know their Scunthorpe's from their Lincoln's - how could English football get to this stage where such an English tradition is outsourced. If we're not carefull the final will be played in Singapore or somewhere.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been accused of tax fraud by Spanish prosecutors investigating his time as Real Madrid's head coach. Portuguese-born Mourinho is accused of defrauding Spain of €3.3m (£2.9m; $3.6m) in taxes between 2011 and 2012.

No wonder he never smiles. Still he should be safe in the UK tax haven.

 

Spain's tax authorities seem to be going in hard for high profile names atm.

Thing is they will just get the advisors and lawyers to sort the problem out.
