That does sound a bit harsh - the covers and the heaters were on the pitch overnight. Unless he forgot to switch the heaters on....
It would've been funny if he'd got revenge by taking a chunk out of the pitch - wasn't there an occasion when there was a great big hole in the pitch at the Vic?
December 15th 1961. Watford v Grimsby. It was reported to be large enough " to bury Tommy Harmer in!"
That's not the one I'm thinking of - I thought that when the players trained on the pitch in the early days of GT, they arrived one morning to find a hole in the pitch and there is a photo of Ross Jenkins standing in it.
Just browsing through the transfer pages on a website, I noticed that Newport have made eleven signings this transfer window. I suppose that's what happens when you're stone motherless last in League 2...
But they need a new pitch more than anything else and some points! Leeds won 6 in a row at home without conceding a goal - no wonder their owner has been quiet in recent times!
My daughter was staying in a hotel near Scunthorpe last night. She was surprised when Wayne Rooney walked past her in the lobby. Her friend on twitter said she was perfectly safe he only goes for ladies of a certain age!!
Hull are actually looking fairly good - hopefully with losing players they don't pick up too many points though!
Westley got Stevenage into the FL - could the chairman have already told Wesley that his job is safe even if they go down and these are players to get them back up?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38777152 Wenger banned for our game - from the touchline anyway but can still communicate with the team and other coaches during the game and at HT.
Hammers sign Snodgrass please log in to view this image West Ham United Posted at14:43 A bit of half-time transfer news to bring you - West Ham have completed the signing of Hull winger Robert Snodgrass for £10.2m. Might make it harder for Hull to stay up now....
You can't beat the magic of the FA Cup... Liverpool 0 - Wolves 1. If it stays that way, I wonder how long it will be before the knives are out for Klopp?
A long time, I think. I heard a non-Liverpudlian Liverpool fan on the radio yesterday saying he thought Klopp was nearly ready for the chop, but I think their fans generally have much more sense than fickle ones, eg Newcastle.
Results like this won't help the confidence of their younger players who haven't taken their chances.
What it might mean for Klopp is greater pressure to ensure Liverpool get a top 4 spot as they will only have Premier league games.
