WOW, so much positivity and harmony on this thread and I think even FML is warming to the idea of DF being our HC!!! I’m hoping we’ll see several of our more promising youth players being integrated into the first team squad next season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see several of these players on the team sheet by the end of the season - Ramsay, Efete, Lewis, Adams, Crowe, Jaiyesimi and of course Godfrey, Thompson and JM all got first team debuts last season. I also expect to see Middleton given his opportunity in the league cup or whatever they’re going to call it next season. I’m glad I’ve got my Priority Membership in place, so I’ll be able to get to games when I want.
Actually, not really fussed and I quite like the idea if sitting in different parts of the ground to see which I prefer. I DO like roughly where my seat was, but maybe slightly higher up and nearer the stairs for a faster exit.
The building blocks are starting to slot into position. New management structure, FD and SD already appointed and now a new head coach who's philosophy sounds like a breath of fresh air. Plus an assistant coach who is defensively minded It all hinges on how well or badly the recruitment team do this summer - do we even have one in place yet? The seeds have definitely been sown - we await to see what grows out of them
Not kean on the term "footballing philosophy " the coach has tactics and one would hope a game plan or two but philosophy is an ancient Greek word meaning "love of wisdom " and primarily used to ponder our very existence ,how the mind works ,language and knowledge . The Dortmund way is high pressing high tempo attacking football relying on superior fitness and effort. I would call that a style rather than a philosophy .
Very true, DD. The use of the term always reminds me of the Monty Python sketch about a team of philosophers playing in Grecian robes with Jean Paul Sartre out on the wing. Style is a much better term for it.
What plonkers we are According the the 'legend' that is Ray Wilkins, we should have gone for Tim Sherwood or even Alex Mc (effing) Leish!! Audio version of the Sun 'news'paper. Sh1te.
Perhaps British managers should have done better. Wilkins could do with reading this: http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...hings-on-why-farke-is-the-right-man-1-5034661
He mentions Monk, as well, but he only became available after we'd confirmed DF. Had we even approached McLeish, never mind signed him, Kett's Rebellion 2 would have started on Mousehold Heath
Seriously? Sherwood, McCleish? I know it's common knowledge that he's an old soak but he's started well early today <hic>
.......... and another thing, remind us how many British managers / coaches your beloved Chelski have employed within the last 10-20 years Mr Wilkins ??
Of the three teams to be promoted to the PL this season none have a "British" manager. Go figure..........
Now we have a German Head Coach thought I'd translate a few well known chants into German: On The Ball City - Am Ball Stadt Come on you Yellows - Komm Sie gelb Farke's Green & Yellow Army - FARKE grun und gelb Armee There's only one Daniel Farke - Es glot nur ein Dainel Farke
