Do you think as fans we get hung up too much on the idea of a 20 goal a season striker? Statistics from the Premier League era are quite interesting: http://hitrowz.com/2013/07/14/the-myth-of-the-20-goal-a-season-forward/
Interesting article there. Although a '20 goal' striker is an asset to a team, it is safer to have two or three forwards capable of scoring, say, 15 goals per Season. These forwards should be augmented by midfield players capable of arriving unmarked into the opposition box and scoring too. Add to those the odd goals from defenders, e.g., CBs going upfield for corners. All this would be an all round team effort and should bring success (or at least, prevent relegation). If a Club is totally reliant on one '20 goal' striker, it is at deep risk should that player be sidelined by injuries. In those circumstances, what is 'Plan B' ?
