The way I see it, there are two "purposes" to life. The first is, because we are all a part of the universe, it is our duty to learn as much about it as we possibly can. Whether that's by contributing to science ourselves, or helping our fellow humans to do so but supporting the continuation of civilisation, I think we have a duty to become as knowledgeable as possible about the world and the cosmos, for the simple reason that, as far as we currently know, no other species is capable of learning about it. Secondly, we need to find, make and maintain meaningful connections with our fellow creatures. Whether that be our wives, husbands, children, friends, pets, it doesn't matter; being a sentient life form is a lonely thing in this universe, and we need to look out for each other wherever we can. The best emotion and experience there is, for me, is laughter, and that's an emotion that's always better shared. That's why some of my best memories are of getting pissed with my mates and simply enjoying the moment for what it is. F*ck me, that was deep for a Friday, I need a pint...
****ing hell, I've got a head ache after reading all that. I need to go out and get myself a nightfighter.
I always consider a successful life to be just enough. Just enough loved ones where you feel more loved than alone, just enough good friends who make like fun and adventurous and not drama or selfishness, I generally put people in 2 camps, drains or radiators. Some people make you feel warmer and happier other people drain the warmth from you, the older I get the less time I have for drains and this has helped me a lot. Enough money where you can enjoy life and not worry where the next meal comes from. Enough years of good health and fitness where you can push and test yourself. But like most things in life your own attitude matters so much and so many things can be either a problem or an opportunity.

Just got back from watching Ricky Gervais live in town, it was brilliant. Life is about laughing as much as possible for me, today was the most I've laughed in a long time.
