Then we'll agree to disagree. I'd give a three match ban for diving for a penalty (and none of this contact = foul bollocks). Five for diving to get an opponent sent off. Stamps it all out straight away.

 

Bit of an over reaction to be honest. Booking for feigning injury is enough. I'd up the punishment to a red card for diving to try and win a penalty though.

 

I agree that he shouldn't have done it even though in hindsight given that nobody was hurt, it is a bit amusing. I do disagree that Fuchs would have been intending to hurt him thoug. As Fosse said, if he wanted to get him in the head he would have. Logically, it hit him on the side of his shoulder. Had he not turned, surely that would be front of his shoulder or chest? Also the ball was travelling down in its trajectory. I guess we wouldn't know exactly but I don't believe there was intent to seriously hurt

 

It was just handbags really it's what footballers do.

Personally I think it would be a bit harsh to give Sanchez a ban for feigning injury AND another for unsporting behaviour ... which his antics undoubtely were ... ...

 

Why stop there , what about all the clutching and grabbing on corners . What if someone dives to enhance the fact that he was grabbed or clutched in the box moments earlier . It's a slippery slope .

 

It's really not. Just don't dive. Stuff at corners is annoying- referees were dealing with it and then just stopped for some reason.

However, it relies on referees giving fouls when players are fouled but don't go down which rarely happens now.

 

I find the clutching and grabbing is a bigger problem . A ref sees a dive and ignores it , no harm no foul . But the clutching and grabbing is actual contact ,in dangerous attack positions, is becoming the " Norm " and is ruining play
