You can't say "Space Ghetto" in an American Accent without sounding like a Scottish person saying "Spice Girl".
I know there's a few fans of David Brent and The Office - 'coming soon' It’s been more than 12 years since the last episode of Gervais’s “Office” premiered in the U.K., and now a new film — called “David Brent: Life on the Road” — picks up with the awkwardly obnoxious former middle manager as he works as a traveling salesman while pursuing dreams of becoming a rock star. Like “The Office,” “Life on the Road” takes the form of a mockumentary as a film crew follows Brent in his endeavors. While his career has changed, it looks like Brent himself hasn’t, as he keeps talking himself into uncomfortable situations. Gervais wrote and directed the movie. “The Office,” which first aired in 2001, launched Gervais into international stardom. His stand-up comedy shows became hot tickets, and he developed other TV series such as “Extras,” “Life’s Too Short” and “Derek.” “The Office,” likewise, was adapted into versions for other countries, such as France and Israel, while also spawning a long-running NBC sitcom that starred Steve Carell. Gervais appeared as Brent in an episode of the U.S. version that aired in 2011. “David Brent: Life on the Road” is set to open Aug. 19 in the U.K.
I didn't watch the Office, I've seen a few clips of the series over the years, never gave it much thought - even so I liked the clip above quite was amusing - as for Louis C.K I've never heard of him, so I Googled a few of his performances - love his self-deprecating sense of humour ...I'll definitely watch out for him
He's incredible mate, Louis CK, definitely more 'likeable' than Ricky Gervais. I'm a huge fan of Ricky Gervais though, I know a lot of people don't find him entertaining but he is right up my street humour-wise.
Ricky Gervais seems to me to be the Marmite of the show bizz world: people seem to either love him or hate him. I think he is great..
