For all our pretty triangles, for all our balls down the line to our wingers, for all our possession, and our passing, we get to the edge of the area and NEVER look like playing a final ball that will put a player in on goal. Be honest, everytime we get into the final third, do you honestly sense us creating any clear cut chances in the box??? And be honest, every time we win a corner or every time we put a cross in from the flanks, you're thinking "hopefully this will fall to someone in the box" and we'll get a chance to score. That's our best hope based on pot luck, because let's face it, luck from a high ball looks far more favourable than us scoring from 'passing football' that tears open a defence. And it's nowt to do with pacy players. It's just a lack of imagination, ideas or even bottle. To get players into the box, to have front men who pull defenders away and create space for the midfielders - it's in limited supply at United atm. It's just bullshit football.
Not at all Chief. It's a reflection of our season so far. And tonight was only one game, let's see what we do back in the prem in the next few games. And if anything, the goals today prove the point I was trying to make We simply haven't done enough of that.
No, we haven't. Tonight we were clearly playng well though. Not saying it was obvious we'd score more but it looked very likely.
Yeh tbf the second half we really turned it on. Was just saying to IBWT on their board that IF Mkhytarian can be the catalyst to pull together our build up play and convert them into clear cut chances, then I think we'll finally start to convert performances into results. With some entertaining one touch football. EDIT: he brought the best out in Rooney's game as well.
He looked tidy enough, yes. From tonight you'd probably put Herrera back in instead of Carrick and that's it. Bar De Gea, obvs. Both Rashford & Lingard excellent to come off the bench. Plus Tony Marshall. Still not convinced by Blind at centre half, would rather TFM but that's not looking likely so best crack on with who we have.
Treble was the new UIR, then the new Matth. Now he is the new StanDMan, having a meltdown before half-time if United aren't 10-0 up fielding a side of homegrowns
Fail by you Sky, I never claimed reverse jinx. I say it as I see it. However, from your argument I take it you were feeling impressed #fear from our performance?
Why the **** didn't he simply play the majority of the same team that played on Thursday? Everytime we gain some degree of confidence in our play, this ****er changes the team. Is it because he's trying to prove some point only he understands?
I keep telling myself that all the constant changing is to get the players all playing the same way, then in the future injury and suspensions will mean nothing as we have players who will just fit in seamlessly, building for the long haul not the quick fix. Alternatively he could just have no idea what his best team is
Lets cross that bridge when we come to it. Why worry about injuries that may or may not happen later. At this rate, by the time it gets to the point you're talking about, we'll be too far behind for it to matter. First things first, play your best starting XI, gel your team and build momentum!!
You guys have won 2 of your last 10? Jesus Christ thats relegation form!! You trying to match Chelsea's ****ness from last season?
