Good morning all from a warm and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day! Apologies for non-political post on this thread!
Morning dave and non-political post on this thread, never im sure not. Maybe well if left or right .Im down the middle in 7 hours (on the golf course)
Without wishing to bring politics back to this thread, i heard yesterday on 3 counties radio an interview with Dr Taj Hargey, if you get a chance to listen to it, it was on the JVS show, you really should. It was enlightening and massively interesting, as well as a very intelligent commentary on what is going on.
I'm aware of that brian, but simply posting a response on another thread wouldn't have made much sense imo, much like the comment I'd like to respond to. Not to worry, I hereby promise to avoid making Political posts on this thread, and ignoring those who do.
Have a good day, Yorkie. I did the same trip from Lesvos many years ago and bought leather jackets in Turkey. On our return journey, Turkish customs officers wrote a short novel in the back of my passport! I never did get it translated. On the outward trip many Greek woman travelled with no jewellery but returned weighed down with gold necklaces, bracelets and rings. Gold jewellery was sold by weight then in Turkey and as long as the workmanship was good was worth considerably more when it was resold in Greece.
buenas dias cabrones. it is spitting here, and it´d better rain heavily soon as there is riproaring heat here. no football at the weekend, end of season looms, might have to dust my pool cue off....
So, presuming that the intent was to cause death - and, that 2 others were injured, it comes under the catagory of a terrorist attack. After all your self righteous outbursts about others using these types of event for political gain, you are doing the same yourself - in this case, to fuel anti German sentiment. Your pathetic attempts at humour are becoming increasingly wearisome.
Evening all, Spent the day on the road which was a bit of a mistake with it being a public holiday. It results in long queues at the toll booths as people head to the coast or mountains. Booked into a hotel on the strength of the menu and have not been disappointed. Superb meal in an out of the way village, but it must have a great reputation as over the evening it filled to capacity. Sat in a garden with old stone barns and walls surrounding it, great food and wine at modest cost has left me feeling as mellow as the centuries old stone.
I went there 28 years ago on a month trip round turkey... All changed now.. Could not recognise the place. Greek shoppers as mad as you say though Theo...
Back from the holiday and took a walk down my fields. Everything I planted seems to have survived and is growing well. Shame that all the areas I cut have also grown at an alarming rate. While away down south there was no rain, but here there were several days when it did come down and now there is extreme heat. 35°C. Yesterday I said that I had been lucky enough to find a great restaurant. This morning we were able to have breakfast in the garden and while enjoying the local honey that had been reinforced with ground up walnuts, the chef came out with scissors to cut herbs for his midday menu. Straight from the plant to the pan does give you such different flavours from supermarket produce that has taken some time to get to the shelves.
Good morning all from a warm and dry Weston-super-Mare, not dry for much longer, I can hear thunder in the distance! Have a good day!
As much as I enjoy my travels, I am never that sorry to get back. A restful day with a visit to the cave to restock the liquid supplies, and get some fresh food in from the supermarket, and then I watched the cup final for the first time in several years. Tomorrow I need to get back to my land and try to get it under control to some extent before the first of the summer visitors arrive during the week. They are on holiday and seem to think that we are as well, although the truth is we are always busy with one thing or another. Never mind, it will be good to see them.
