Well just along the coast at Selsey it is clear blue sky and sunshine - if a tad chilly - but nothing a Yorkshireman would notice
Cold? It struggled up briefly mid afternoon to 0°C, but that didn't last long and it is dropping like a stone again. Lovely sunshine and clear blue sky during the day, but it brings on the night frosts. With the temperature being low, we are asked to be watchful about our use of electricity between 1800 and 2200 hours as this the time when people get home, put the oven and heating on and demand rises dramatically. Of course if there was any wind the turbines might help, but the ones I have seen recently are hardly turning.
I will put a match thread up for Sat. OFH & Leo, we are back into the rhythm now of one match a piece after I ruined it over Xmas, right? Thanks!
Yep sounds good - to be fair to Mex I also got distracted by things in December - my little boy (26) has headed out to Australia to live - probably permanently. All in a bit of a rush as the company wanted him to start on 3rd Jan so he had to move around Christmas - and for good measure daughter number 3 gave birth to grandchild number 5 on 2nd January. T'was hectic to say the least.
Morning all from a cold St. Helier. Got a problem with my right knee - it's mainly just discomfort but is worse when I go up stairs. Seeing the doctor on Monday morning and what he says may be an addition to the TLC thread.
Evening all..on the Train ride north after 3 days working in Brighton.. Certainly very chilly and sunny.. Have a good evening and I guess I will be back tomorrow
Today the socialist have been having a primary to see who should stand for President this year. A report from tonight. "A radical left-winger, who has been dubbed France's Jeremy Corbyn, could become the Socialist Party's candidate in the French presidential elections this spring. Benoît Hamon, a former education minister, has caused a stir with his bold policies including a universal basic income for every French adult and the legalisation of cannabis." Seems as if we will get money to buy the weed. He won and goes into the second round of voting against the current prime minister. "However, Hollande is leaving his party in such turmoil that any Socialist candidate is unlikely to be elected the next head of state in May."
