Portsmouth losing 3-0. They let me down whatever score I go for in the prediction league....and I wasted a joker. :headbang:

Still is an incredible amount of time to not suffer brain danage as a result. Anyone who's done basic resus training will know that.

Nice to see Eastleigh winning away today. Hopefully they are over their troubles and can get back up the table.

    Brilliant game.

Mangala who scored for Valencia has now been sent off. Messi scored the pen and then a Barca loanee just equalised for Valencia with last kick of the half.

It's a shame really, he was absolutely brilliant in his day. My favourite midfielder of the past 10 years.

Now this is a genuinely interesting idea. The UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin, wants to tax glamour clubs from hoarding all the best players in an effort to stop them dominating football and to produce more competition: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39355514

He said, "a 'luxury tax' on rich clubs and squad limits could also help to stop elite clubs dominating the game.
The "excessive concentration of talent with a few teams" had to change.
"Uefa has a duty to protect the whole of football and not just the elite," Ceferin told a conference in Lisbon.

That's right up my street. I'm sold. Be wonderful if it actually happened.

Somebody in the system who may actually want to better the game, rather than pander to their own desires for power and money? As HR said, he'll soon be put right.

I thought Mr Infantino might be that guy but that hasn't happened. Goal line tech and shaving foam for referees have been the only recent improvements I can think of that actually have improved the game.

Perhaps a ban on loaning players out, would stop the bigger clubs from buying players, in what seems to be an attempt to stop other teams from buying them.
If not a ban on loans, change the system so that the parent club is responsible for paying every penny of the loaned out players' wages, and preventing them from receiving a loan fee.
Some will argue that a club renting a player should pay for that service, but equally you could argue that the club taking a player on loan is taking a risk on an untried player and providing a facility and experience that will gain the parent club a larger transfer fee, should they then choose to sell the player.
Here's a link to the Guardian, listing 38 players Chelsea sent out on loan, by the close of the transfer window, 2016.
Would they have all these players on their books, if they still had to pay every penny of their wages, and didn't receive a loan fee?
