    Gladbach on the come back trail. 3-0 down to Fiorentina on aggregate, now 3-3 and they have the away goals. I remember years ago when was a student in Liverpool and went to the UEFA Cup final first leg. I really wanted Gladbach to win. They lost 3-2 overall. A member of that team was Gunther Netzer who as some may remember took England apart at Wembley in the 1972 European Championships. That was the moment Alf should have either have gone or rebuilt the team completely.

    The standout results from this round have to be Gladbach, Apoel (I cannot think of a Cypriot team to have come this far) and Anderlecht. Would love Celta to somehow get a win in the Ukraine.

    Who are we supporting now with Spurs out? Someone thinks we should back a team from the Netherlands or Belgium. Nice to see some clubs who were great in the past, stirring themselves again like Ajax, Gladbach, Anderlecht. How about Apoel or Olmpiakos? One thing for sure, there isn't a standout team left.

    Celta did it!! At least one La Liga side remains in the competiton to try and keep the trophy here on the Iberian Peninsula.
