Friday means music.. Back in 1969 as a 12 year old, a few pubes this was mine..>ok> Was lucky though at the time, had older brothers so grew up with music long before.. This was the first song, music I loved, got me right into style, everything.. Steve Marriott, saw him some 5 years later after this with Humble Pie, one true iconic master of rock n' roll.. Stick your songs up and enjoy.. We have been here before but with the massive influx of new members, wtf..
Very apt.. Thing is, they had a song called 'Hammer to Fall' did it at live aid, loved that song, raunchy deep chords, floated my boat..
See Ska to me was a punk spin-off as were the New Romantics a couple of years later with Synths.. Skinheads were around a long time before, Slade with the levi-stay-press, braces, doc-martins and ben sherman's were the first skinhead group in 1970 until they realised they could make more as a glamrock chart group. A very old mate of mine got kicked in the teeth in the front row by Dave Hill Slades lead in 1970, He and a few mates stormed their dressing room for revenge but they had ****ed off. I look at Dave Hill now and admire him with what he does but ffs my mate carries a vengeance, stay in Brum Dave I wore Ben Sherman's as a 13 year old with the pleat down the back, maroon stay press too..
