Shouldn't this be on the arts thread? It might not be painting or music but it could slip in under the 'etc' banner.;)

Where's Bill O'Reilly when you need him?

Latest report states that Mister "Fair and Balanced" described one of his black female colleagues as "Hot chocolate" What a f****n' distgusting excuse for a human being.

Horrible stuff. Young Billy Monger, just 17 was involved in a terrible racing accident last weekend. It cost him both his legs. He had no chance at all. The camera is aboard his car.

At least I am 'out' tomorrow with my cousins their partners and offspring. Will likely 'sniff' out some boozer where I can indulge in an Erdinger Weissbier.

I don't drink Weissbier, but have a few mates who do. Each has their favourite, with probably Franziskaner coming out on top, with Erdinger and Schneider close behind.

Unfortunately, when visiting the city centre rub-a-dubs of Edinburgh you are limited to Erdinger or some gassy local crap. So it will be Erdinger or Bourbon, lemonade and ice for this auld soak!

If however I use some ingenuity I may be able to maneuver my relations to the one and only 'German' pub in my hometown. This establishment would allow me to switch between Rauchbier, Kolsch and Weissbier before the inevitable downfall into a bourbon inspired trip to the 'dancing'.

I was channel hopping last night after MOTD and I happened across a September 1983 edition of Top Of The Pops on BBC4. It was being presented by Mike Read and Simon Bates – now would Radio 1 have DJs of their ages/images nowadays?

We think of lip syncing (especially when it is bad) as a modern phenomenon, but it was hilarious watching just how bad the acts were at miming to their own songs back in the 80s when TOTP would not let them perform live.

Hot Chocolate front man Errol Brown was waving his microphone around from side to side in front of his face yet his vocal was not wavering at all. Nick Heyward sang “A Blue Hat For A Blue Day” whilst holding his guitar and without a microphone at all. The number one that week was Culture Club and Boy George kept the microphone right in front of his lips, but hardly moved them at all.

On this particular edition they showed two videos of songs, one being David Bowie and the other Status Quo; two acts that are now only available on video a little over thirty years down the line.

The final race of the World Relays. Mixed 4x400. Never seen these type of races before, but they make for a nice old spectacle.

Just watched Rocket Ronny clear the table with a 146 break. Incredible how he worked his way through the reds without breaking them up. Pity he'll be out of the contest in a few minutes

OMG. He just came from 63 behind to clear the table and win with the black. Still needs to win the next 3 frames to avoid going out. Can't see it happening but ...........................
