Arrived with little fanfare from Liverpool fans but has looked so very good in pre season. What kind of season are we looking at for Solanke?
Firmino is our main man up top but with Studge being injured and Origi being...well, **** really is Solanke our main backup for Firmimo?

Best deal of the season at a reasonable price also. Solanke is going to make it, competition for Sturridge and Origi. Chelsea are kicking themselves.

Yes....he scores, Origi misses lots according to well......

I really liked his movement and ability to free himself in the box and be on the end of a ball in....repeats that in the PL and origami doesn't get a look in.

And Klopp had never heard of him lol

    I have been impressed.

His aerial ability for his age seems quite developed, the looping header he scored was an eye opener there.

He seems a hard worker in terms of getting about the pitch too.

My view is klopp will be on about the rythmn method here when he chooses between the strikers.

At the very worst he will be played in cups and get a few league appearances.

He is a lot better than anyone else we have got in the u23s in his position.

Origi.... the guy needs to go do more but klopp likes him so I dunno.

Seems decent in the air, better than I thought and has a bit of presence about him. Been impressed and a few goals in pre season will do good for confidence. Can't see him playing loads but he's arguably ahead of Origi in pecking order ATM so depending on Studge fitness 2nd or 3rd choice striker.

Could be a very astute buy this one if he goes on to improve given he's still only young.

Doubt he will start many except possibly EFL or dead rubber Euro ties but think he will end season with quite a few sub apperances. As Mito said his aerial ability does give us a different threat
On pre season deffo ahead of Origi who realy needs to take a look at himself if for no other reason he should be the obvious cover for Mane / Salah but seems unwilling to do the work reqd.

His name "Dom" suggests he should drive a white van. I'm not a fan of his haircut. A tall hair cut works best on a round face. With his shape face he shouldn't be trying to accentuate the tall narrow shape.

He might be able to offset it with a bushy beard, not trimming the sides too much.

I'm surprised Origi is still with us to be honest. Not that he's terrible... It's just he's not great. We tended to cycle through strikers like that fairly quickly in the past.

We've not really had a great goal scoring striker since Suarez left. Hopefully Solanke will develop into one. Hard to tell really based on a player I've never seen play.

If he gets time at Watford it'll be interesting to see.

I like him. Never been a fan of Origi but as mito says Klopp likes him so expect him to start ahead of Solanke. If he doesn't get the time he himself expects, we'll see what kind of attitude he has. Looks a hard knock to me <laugh>

Same as Woodburn; bit part player with limited opportunity whilst Salah, Mane and Firmino are firing. Studge, Origi and possibly Ings are ahead of him in the queue too.

He likes Origi because he listens to what Klopp wants. If he wants to play on the wing he will run and run and run. Wants him to play a holding striker he will keep the ball and if he wants him to attack he will do that.

Think him and Solanke and very similar players, don't know which one i prefer tbh.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves - Solanke has impressed in pre season. The PL is a big step up.

Origi was keeping lukaku and benteke out of the national team, played in WC, ligue 1 and PL experience, and played a big part in our EL run.

He has since struggled but if he can regain that form, then we have a serious player on our hands.
