Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Jul 17, 2015.

  1. But Arsenal's hopes of signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, 24, have been reduced after his coach confirmed the France international is expected to remain at the club.
    (London Evening Standard)

    That will come as a massive relief for Walnut, who has just signed a new 4 year deal with the Gunners, making him their highest-paid player (in a team that already pays its players silly money). The last thing that Walnut wants is to have a player come in on half what he gets and make him look like a muppet!

  3. The talk, all over the media, today, is of the latest sleight that Jose has made against Wenger. In a masterful display of mind-games, Jose has challenged Wenger to prove that he deserves the "Le Prof" tag, by finally putting in a proper title challenge, in the coming season, bearing in mind the huge sums of money Arsenal has spent in recent seasons, bringing in the likes of Sanchez, Ozil, and Cech.

    "Le Prof" has, so far, remained silent on the attack. Not surprising, perhaps, given the fact that the Frenchman has been ripped a new one, on the two previous occasions he attempted to lock horns with the Portuguese.

    Classic PISKIE without a hint of irony: "Don't be taken for a mug mate. Maureen is a meltdown specialist and this is just one more example."

    To be fair, this chap is less plastic than 87, Gooner4Ever and has supported Arsenal longer

    Its the ol' Deltmown trick.
    You can say anything about a person, and when they respond, regardless of what they say, even if they make you look a right ****, just do the down syndrome kid smiley (this one <laugh>) and claim "DELTMOWN" and you have the victory, its a tried and tested Not606 tactic.

  11. Anything you can do I can do better? Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny produced a superb rabona in training and then laid down the gauntlet to Cristiano Ronaldo by uploading the video to Instagram and writing the message:'Can you do this @cristiano!'
    (BBC Football website)

    <doh>
    Lamela scored a goal in an actual match using this technique, you dickhead! It should be Lamela's arse you're kissing, not Ronaldo's!

  12. Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane says Arsenal players are more "interested in selfies and six-packs instead of winning Premier League titles". (Sunday Mirror)

    Harsh, but fair, I think.

    Keano was immense for United. Taking into account everything he brought to the team he is the best box to box midfielder the PL has seen (others will disagree which is fair enough but they'd be wrong).

    He's also, sadly, turned into a certifiable, bitter nutjob.

  15. What I love about Keane, these days, is that he always looks like he's on the verge of completely losing it and killing someone. The fact that he seems quite polite and talks very calmly merely adds to his appeal as the consummate psychopath.

    That's because Rio is another classic attention seeking modern footballing moron who'd be best staying away from Twitter and **** radio ads. It's embarrassing.

    100% this. Like today spouting off about Stones going to Chelsea being a bad move (100% agree with this) he then says he should go to United where he will get games like the 50 other centre backs they have where no one is guaranteed a game with the mad one in charge

  18. I'd love to see Keano and Ferdinand in a WWF-type pre-show hoe-down.

    Now, that's what I would call entertainment!

    I'd be putting my shirt on Keano.

  19. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised the Football Association for taking a tougher stance on players who feign injury in order to get an opponent sent off.

    Under new regulations, a player who simulates an injury could be retrospectively punished with a three-match ban. Wenger has previously called for the FA to take action against simulation.

    "I'm a big, big fan of the new rule," said Wenger. "With all the camera angles it will be easier to punish players diving."

    According to the new rules, the player deemed guilty of feigning injury to get an opponent dismissed can only be punished if the red card is rescinded by an independent panel.

    (BBC Football website)

    <yikes>
    Please, someone, tell me that Wenger is being sarcastic!

    His regular quips of "I did not see it," when asked about the dirty tactics employed by his players, matched with his "It was a clear penalty," as soon as anyone breathes on one of his players in the opposition half, demonstrate that he's the last person we want to offer any view on this subject!

    Arsenal used to go on more deadly diving expeditions than Steve Irwin. It got so bad at one stage that you'd seriously wonder if AFC had any intentions of changing its kit to include a snorkel and mask!
