Brown will be available for the cup game against the Dybbucks - red card being appealed and the appeal won't be heard until 28th April. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39615167
Glad he's available but it was silly challenge.. He had cut out this stuff but the red mist after a shocking penalty decision
Yea - he'd been fouled twice and got nothing from the ref, just before he lost it and his anger at the penalty decision was still fermenting ... so all boiled over. Silly, yes but I think his tackle was a yellow, not red ... so maybe the ref did us a favour by making it red & can be appealed? Whereas, a yellow would have led to a 2-match ban immediately (can a yellow be appealed?)
It was reckless but he got ball first ... But you are correct , yellow can't be appealed So, jobs a good yin !
Wonder how the ref explained that one to Rodgers after seeing how ridiculous it was ... then again maybe he came clean and said:- "Look, I'm a Ross County fan & needed to heip them out but I gave Scott a red so you could appeal it & have him available for the big Cup game - rather than the yellow which it should have been but which would have meant you'd have lost him for it ... quits then?" ;-)
He's already suffered a few to be fair. Not least the awful challenge on Tierney which only got a yellow from this same ref against Motherwell and of course the blatant pen against Sevco in the last match. We got one gift and it was all over the phone ins for a week.
Don't think anything was as blatant as today's pen though ... Rodgers said himself that he'd seen a few bad decisions since coming to Scotland but that this was the worst.
Understandably all the talk is about various incidents in yesterdays game, and previous games, but IMO we are playing below par, and have been in, perhaps, four out of the last six games. Hopefully BR can use these incidents as an incentive to drive the team on next week, because IMO{again} we need to up our game.
