I thought the same and refused to for 30 years until I broke myself too much to play real sports lol. Only been playing for 3 years and only regularly for the last year.

Have become a bit addicted tbh..

Latest update on the job front. I decided to go with the new company and handed my notice in, my firm have refused to accept it until they have made me a counter offer. They have advised I will have the counter offer by Monday in writing, email and letter. One of our senior executives has called me to say the offer will be more than the new company are offering.

Nice as it is it does raise the question "why have my current company not been paying me more if they do not want me to leave".

I will wait and see what the offer is then decide, I do not want to get into a situation were I am bouncing between the two companies playing one off against the other....after all I am not a football agent!

The wife is hoping the additional money will be enough for her to retire!

Not a bad situation to be in. Guess just have to then weigh up if the extra money is important (guess you're closing to retirement age if your wife is so pile it all up while you can) or the variety of new work.

I am happy where I am, it was just the extra income to pile into a pension which was the main attraction of the new job. Ideally the offer from my current employer will be good enough for me to stay where I am, but with a better deal.

    Find out on Monday!!!

Easy decision them mate. Your current employers are desperate for you to stay and are willing to offer more money. Whatever they offer, ask for a little more, they'll give it you ;)

So will you be stuck on same pension you already have maxed out in 8 years time? Can they offer you a top up? I would ask about that

Waiting to hear, but the suggestion is the old one is closed and sits there and I go into the current scheme which is money purchase and I can pile spare cash into it. I am planning 10k a year as additional payments so will get the tax back on that into the fund as well

Froome 3rd in the time trial at TdF and ahead of nearest rivals.........only needs to finish tomorrows final stage to win his 4th Tour.

Sadly, Froome was being booed by some at the stadium finish in Marseille.

probably because he very nearly caught Bardet <laugh>

in fact Bardet was so slow ( 51st @ 2 mins) he only stayed 3rd by 1 sec from Lander.

Edit - they booed him at the start from the stadium never mind the finish

Yeah, really poor from supposed cycle fans. I'd love to see a Frenchman win Le Tour (a long time since 'The Badger') , but Froome is
in a class of his own in this race at the mo.

i cannot see how Bardet can win any of the TdF , Vuelta or Giro unless something dramatic changes in his time trialling. The organisers of this years TdF made the amount of time trialling in this years tour tiny compared to normal but it still cost him dear.

PS at least they didn't lob bottles of piss at Froome this year .
