Could be a coincidence. You can overdo fruit though, especially if drinking juices. Fructose can reduce your body's ability to break down uric acid. I find it funny, cherries and pineapples are supposed to be about the best things you can have to beat gout and both contain fructose. They're also my two favourite fruit so I don't mind over indulging on them and calling it "medicine".
Are you sure about that? Are you 100% sure you hadn't eaten anything else? touched another human being or animal? Done something else that you would have done when eating cherries?
That's because of the lack of alcohol in it. I've never had a headache after squash which is a similar situation.
