Jammy, the first half was effectively last season's team, so no 'new faces' excuses are acceptable. This was also their 3rd (?) pre-season game, so can't be that rusty. If they were just unlucky, I'd have taken that - but they just looked all over the shop to me. All on different wavelengths by the looks, and shocking passing, movement etc. I can accept the second half performance, as it was mostly newbies. Fair enough, but not the first half. It worried me. Now then, I have to make a confession. I'm rubbish at assessing a game on tv. It's too narrow for me. A producer / cameraman's opinion on what I should be watching. I prefer to be at a match myself. It could be that there was loads happening off the ball that we didn't get to see. That might have made me feel a lot better, but we'll never know. BUT!!! I'll be over there for the next two games. Unless I get lost, which is highly probably, given that Mrs WJ's contribution to navigation is little gems like "You should have turned left 10 miles back", "What road are we on?", etc. I have to memorise journeys as I don't like those nagger machines. One nagger in the car is quite enough for me. Looking forward to it if I get there.
Have a great time WJ and really looking forward to your trip report as much as the match reports. You have set the scene beautifully about Mrs WJ and you so don't leave anything out as we want all the nitty gritty.
Enjoy the trip WJ - If you overindulge, get yourself to a Viennese cafe the next morning and order a großer Schwarzer - an Austrian double Mocca/Espresso - will sort your head out
a) Don't like coffee b) Vienna is in the east. We're in the west, midway between Innsbruk & Salzburg.
Erm....... TWO naggers ....... Agree with all comments on game. TC has a lot of work to do. Its a bit worrying though I also think the opposition are better than we'll meet in the championship.
Try doing the puzzles in the Express, if you're worried about dementia. They are (as you'd expect) nice and easy.
It's is the contracted form of 'it has' or 'it is'. Its is the possessive form of it, meaning 'of it'. Just keeping going on your education
