Good Morning Everyone Giuseppe Bellusci is back at Leeds - for the time being anyway. The 27 year old trouble maker has not secured his Serie A move, and until it is, he will train with the rest of the lads. Did you know that Bellusci's wages are more than Cook, Mowatt and Taylor's combined! I wonder what Jansson will make of him? A Leeds poster (Jettatura) came up with this, along with the caption 'Throwback to when the insanity of the Cellino circus was at its worst' please log in to view this image Could not have said it better. I looks like it will be a busy week for transfers for Leeds Utd. I wonder if we'll see anyone leave? Which dead wood should Leeds release?
I'll be happier thinking about releasing players once we have the full number of good players to be competitive. Last season we didn't have enough players. OK there was the Revie team who played for years for peanuts and there were only 14 of them but for some reason times and competitveness have moved on and we need a squad with depth to cover injuries, suspensions and to change the style of play etc. So for me we keep what we have, recruit good players and replacements and then sell, if we get to that happy position.
Players to be sold: Taylor, Duke, Bridcutt, Murphy, Dallas, Silvestri, Dave, Erwin, Bellusc& Turnbull Players needing to improve or gone at Xmas: Antonson & Roofe, So we should have another 5 players to come in to joining Viera, Sako, Pontus, Felix, with a couple of them being creative midfield, a new C Half & a striker or 2. Bellusci may be a problem for many Leeds fans as he was seen as trouble in the dressing room & crap by many. If he was so bad why do Serie A clubs chase him? What if he was Cellinos plant in the dressing room. What if Tommy sees him as the answer to how he wants to set the team up. Will fans give him another chance?
Hi Josh, evening by the way, probably one of those could go right now, as long as that Arsenal (s..t) rumour isn't correct a couple of the others yes if the spanish and macedonian guy sign up.
Morning all. Not sure well manage to move on all the players we want without subsidising their moves. Thats not such a problem anymore though apparently. I was thinking earlier on, isnt it a wonderful change to be discussing ground improvements at our Elland Road, new signings costing millions and all on two to three year contracts, and not a trace of scandal in any tabloid about us. First summer in a long time weve been able to properly enjoy. Still lots of unanswered questions of course re coach and how players will perform but thats all part of the fun come August
Totally agree but really concerned about our first pre-season game this weekend. We should have lined up a team that would have enabled us to gell and gain confidence. Guiseley are too challenging we should have lined up a team that we could have scored 5 or 6 against, as Spurs did, would have been a good run out for the guys. Can anybody think of such a team
I can, but many of their players havent returned from a summer of odd jobbing, chippies and sparkies you know
Wood on holiday, Pontus returns today along with Bellusci not sure when o'Kane lands back after his Humanist honeymoon isnt this match behind closed doors anyway so a bit of fitness and footy training thats all. Give some kids and newbies a run out
Morning all... I wouldn't be so quick to condemn Bellusci, he was here at a time when the club were a joke, a time when players could go running to Cellino and nobody knows what Cellino promised him. If we can move him on fine but if we don't we should give him a chance, he still might have something to offer and if he had never played in a Leeds shirt before wouldn't we be excited at the prospect of an experienced CB who is wanted by a few SerieA teams. Hopefully we'll see a couple of new faces this week but I had to pinch myself last week, a couple of signings not loans, buying ER back and discussing improvements, I could get used to this.
