Good Morning Everyone Norwich City are appointing Borussia Dortmund II's Daniel Farke as their new head coach. The deal is to be signed later this week. That's at least one club out of the way, but what about Boro? Who is the biggest club right now? (in order) Leeds? Norwich? Boro? Leeds intend to appoint a new technical director at the club. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the intention is that the person for this job will be a foreigner. The report claims that Monk is open to the idea of working within this structure, which will involve working with the technical director in order to recruit players for the Championship next season. The author of the initial report went on to confirm on twitter that Victor Orta is in the running for the job. The Spaniard was let go by Middlesbrough, where he was head of recruitment, and brought in the likes of Gaston Ramirez, Alvaro Negredo and Adama Traore at the Riverside. Leeds announced recently that former Real Madrid senior man Ivan Bravo, who is a key associate and adviser of Radrizzani’s, has also joined the club’s board of directors. Leeds United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Guingamp forward Yannis Salibur, according to reports in France (via Sport Witness). The 26-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign with the Ligue 1 outfit, netting eight goals and laying on four assists in 35 league appearances to help the club to tenth place in the French top-flight, their joint-highest finish since returning to the top tier in 2013. And there’s little doubt that Salibur, a former France youth international, has played a significant part in their excellent campaign, yet it may well be his last at the club as reports suggest that he could be on his way to England this summer. And that’s because Garry Monk’s Leeds are reportedly keeping tabs on the Frenchman having come close to signing him last summer, only for the 26-year-old to opt for another season in Ligue 1. In fact, Salibur reportedly said recently that he was open to a move to England, and this is sure to interest a Leeds side still reeling from a woeful run of form at the end of their Championship campaign to dethrone them of a play-off place.
Morning all. Football doesn't seem very relevant at the moment but I suppose life must go on. Can't let the terrorist bastards win. Wish Radz would get deal finished and put wheels in motion for our next season. Tired already reading of potential signings when we don't have a confirmed coach yet. Get a move on
Cellino is still in charge then! Not learned any lessons and still fails to understand that you need somebody with knowledge of the English championship to recruit players and not some fancy dan that has no clue about how to get out of the hardest league in the world to be promoted from. The long march backwards has started again.
Morning all. I'm a little surprised that Monk would be willing to work under a technical director, what if he doesn't agree with the signings? It just opens the door for favouritism, dressing room unrest, a divided dressing room and conflict on all fronts. At least it will give us plenty of argument material... "No I'm sure you'll find that was a Monk signing".......
If true it is very worrying and indicates another total rebuild is coming. Perhaps Cellino/Rads think no progress was made last season?
Rad 50% Cellino 50% = problem 1 GFH = problem 2 problem 1 needs sorting pronto or there will forever be problem 2
You feck off and worry about your own problems like how the hell are you going to get out of the Championship bottom three next season, weve a promotion push to sort
Lots of stories around but the Techy Director role was around last season & Monk was party to it when Radz first spoke to Monk. Monk wants someone on the board who can back his ideas & help land good players. This person will also have a big network in European footy circles so actually do the role of scout too, even if most of it will be recommendations and videos of potential targets. I dont see anything wrong with that sort of person as it follows all top clubs these days. Also helps with rebuilding the academy. We have to face facts, overseas players are cheaper than UK players even if only because of terms, salaries & not paying VAT on the transfer. £18m for a decent championship striker from the UK?
we have no worries mukka apparently Harris and Berylson were discussing transfer targets on the Wembley pitch 2 mins after the final whistle blew its called wasting no time
A non footballing piece of Leeds news. Are we worth 5th in Europe? How the F could there be 4 better places? https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...ets-best-in-europe-2017-list#comment-99095474
I saw oneof their targets run towards them. Thought myself he was too old and fat but seemed to have grabbed their attention fair play
There shouldn't be any surprises at the staff Radz is bringing in, he said at the start he wants to bring his own staff in. Monk is around 1/2 odds to take the Boro job, from what some articles are saying Boro are very keen in landing Monk. I personally will be surprised if he stays, and equally not surprised if he leaves. While everyone is going on about how well he's done.......finishing 7th......not too many seem to be looking at what he hasn't done. He couldn't keep us in the top 6 playoff position........that's amongst other things. According to some articles, the Buzzards are circling for Wood, if we can get 15mill then let him go; we can buy a 7 mill attacking mid and a 8 mill eclectic striker who can be partnered by Antonsson up front. Unless we vastly improve our strike rate, and equally our goals scored rate then we're never going to get promoted. Even Berardi's being touted by an article as a possibility to leaving Leeds sometime next season if Cellino buys into Brescia.......
Were they in a hurry because their targets would all be down the Post Office on the same day to collect their pensions & they wanted to get in first? #AsthoughanyonewouldwantaMillwallsigning
Harris wants 2 bricklayers apparently,Berylson told him to do something about their wall at a free kick.
