Good Morning Everyone Talk Sport have reported that Radrizzani has bought a stake in Britain's 18th-biggest club. 18th? Is that a fair reflection of Leeds Utd? Now that the 'investment has taken place, is it more likely that:- a) We will sign Fletcher? b) Taylor will sign a new contract? c) We will still allow the Wallies to associate with us? If you were the new owner of Leeds Utd, would you be looking for a new ground? Should it be a top priority to purchase back Elland Road and Thorp Arch? Has your opinion of Cellino changed in the last 12 months? Was this a master stroke by our Italian Maverick? Monk has yet again been nominated for Manager of the month, alongside... please log in to view this image
Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP 16h16 hours ago Key thing for Radrizzani is he's investing in a club on the way up. Team in great shape. Accounts less of a mess than they were under GFH.
18th because we dont have any assets, we own nothing. Buying back ER would mean valuation of club would double and mean we hit the top 10. Premier league status would mean we move into top 7 but anything higher would mean a higher marketing budget and players valuation as we have bigger players etc. No chance of hitting top 5 until we challenge for Champions League with massive players etc
Rad should make his first priority of getting Monk signed up on a longer contract as his contract at present is nearing its completion. Sign the loanees we have and make sure Monk has funds available for 2 or 3 top signings this month. Rad being a top operator within the sports industry will bring in extra revenues from tv, sports rights, marketing, sponsorship
morning all ... the future's bright, the future's White ... can't help feeling that there will be at least 12 current "Prem" clubs nervously looking at the Leeds resurgence, knowing that it will mean one less place available to hang on to as a big club drops anchor in the Prem ... exciting times ahead, we must get promotion this year to avoid battling the parachute clubs Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all. A lot of Leeds fans with tired wrists this morning I'd imagine. All night typing. All looks good with Radz and certainly seems to have the right knowledge, connections and a fair wedge of cash. However, as with signing of Monk and players, I will adopt a wait and see approach. As always talk is cheap. January will be an indication of what he brings to the table. I expect to see several new contracts #notnegarivejustcautious
Morning Billy, Yes, the Stokes, Palaces, Hulls and Boro's of the World will be looking around their shoulders...
Morning Eire, Monk is only after two players. One would be Fletcher. I'd guess the other would be a centre back...
If we do get promoted, our first task will be 17th or better in the first season followed by Monk being told that his job was safe regardless of what happens. The 2nd task would be to put the starting XI plus the shadow XI on longer contracts. The 3rd & final task would be to plan for one or two incomers who would look to be 1st XI from day 1. Don't go mad. Take the Stoke approach & change the team slowly, whilst at the sme time developing the kids.
Agree with Boggers and Burnley are a realistic club, they got in a great young English manager and gave him just enough funds to get promoted, accepting relegation and by using the parachute unfair system get promoted again back into the prem. hate the parachute system as it rewards failure and gives small clubs who have no right to be in the top flight based upon fan base and club revenues .... we need to be realistic too and accept it will take a few years to reach top 6 status in the prem unless we get a billionaire owner
Again spot on Doc. Short of a Russian Oligarch or Emirati Sheikh coming in with more money than sense, top 6 will be out of most team's reach for years. Yes I know about Leicester. But that was a one off. Look at Spurs. They've spent plenty & they're still not guaranteed top 6. If we do go up, the League & FA Cups will be our main targets every year for a while until we're secure as t top 10 team
18th biggest? Who cares Based on being in the championship for years we're about 35th Based on being promoted we're immediately about 6th-10th He is buying into the potential What does hold us back a little us we have never been a club getting mega crowds, even in the Reviews era, in fact he complained about it
Blimey, calm down one and all. This fella hasn't even got his feet under the desk at the moment or outlined any plans for the future or how to achieve them. Like the rest of you, I'm hopeful that the future is going to be bright but let's see how we progress before talking of top six. Lets face it, we've rivalled Tottenham for false dawns.
