Was thinking the same myself before the game started, lose and we are suddenly in danger of dropping away, win and we're showing we are meaning business and planning to stay a top 6 team.. Big worry if Wood is injured though...
I would agree in principle, but the way everyone fights for each other is great to see this season ?? Is it not ?, wood will be fine if not ,!! , Jansson to lead the line lol
Much as I would love to agree with you, Newcastle were the one team that looked head and shoulders above us and, from where I was sat the other night the team, and even the fans to a certain extent seemed flat (made more noise st half time than during the game). Couldn't quite decide if we were poor or just made to look poor. Great bounce back tonight though
You should never use the word again pal !!! It means you once weren't ! The words you were looking for were once a LEEDS Fan Always a Leeds fan ..... M.O.T and on !!
Ok, let me rephrase that then. I'm as proud as can be to be a Leeds fan, especially after what we have had to endure over the last 10 years
I don't think the geordies were head and shoulders above us, I thought they'd batter us if i'm honest, but I just didn't think they were that good. all about opinions and how you see the game I suppose
Another great result, and considering how tough our recent fixtures have been as well as the amount of injuries we have had to deal with to still be in the top 6 is a massive achievement. From the last 8 games we have only lost points to the top 2 in the league. Cracking effort. A bit worried by the idea of Wood being out for a while, I struggle to see how we will replace his goals in the team while he's out. Also did dallas play CM?
I also find it quite amazing that everyone around us managed to win (with the exception of reading obviously). Means that we still don't have that cushion of having a loss without falling out of the play-offs.
Just back from the game. First up what a brilliant win. I cannot remember a time in the last decade or so we would have won a game like that. Monk gave the players a plan and they executed it to perfection. Dallas had his best game in ages thus proving he is now over his injury and can contribute fully in the coming weeks. Roofe played the Hernandez role perfectly, dropping back into he midfield 3 and he really impressed with his tactical awareness. Vieira just got better and better as the game went on, he covered so much ground it was unbelievable. Ayling continues to show good qualities, at times it was difficult for him towards the end as Reading overloaded his flank but he's calm in possession and always willing to get forward. Jannson for 2/3 of the game morphed into Bamba. Fortunately he got his act together for the vital last 30 mins and we held out for a clean sheet. Mowatt, what can you say about Mowatt that hasn't been said before. Monk obviously doesn't trust him in a midfield role so now he comes on as a lone forward late in games presumably to link the play and pass someone like Sacko or Doukara through on goal. Too slow can't close anyone down but trying his heart out nonetheless. Bridcutt did well but ran out of gas well before the end. We need to get him up to speed as he is most definitely a class player with real leadership qualities. Expect Wood to be out for 4 weeks. Similar injury to before by my reckoning, hamstring or ligament strain. By the way and I haven't seen any replays it was a never a penalty in a million years. Hope I'm wrong but looked like a clear dive. Roll on Saturday but expecting a really tough match as this League is super competitive and we're not good enough to think of any game as a home banker.
