    I just saw this posted on another forum;

    http://www.liverpool-kop.com/2010/10/exclusive-liverpool-vs-man-united.html

    It's an article on a Liverpool website that shows they have spent more money on transfers than Manchester United since 1990.

    Now I know we have seen the data on other websites showing much the same but to see the myth being blown out of the water on a Liverpool site really must raise some eyebrows?

    Extract;

    Between 1990 and 2010, Liverpool spent more on transfers than Manchester United!!
    £527.6 million compared to £486.2 million.

    The argue even goes on to dispel the counter arguments put forward by Liverpool fans!

    In fact we have sold players at vast profits such as Ronaldo etc. Also our assets such as Berbatov cost £25,000,000 current value £55,000,000, Little pea £5,000,000 value up to £30,000,000, Vidic £5,000,000 value £80,000,00, Evra £4,000,000 value £35,000,000 have to be taken into account. Quite simply Fergie is a genius making us mints of cash in the process which we invest in our youth systems to stop us wasting noney like Liverpoo and Bitter Citeh.

    Also our players actually help us win trophies and so have more than made up the money we spent on them through on field success and increased income for the club.

    Av u ever won the treble?

    Nice link. You can't beat a good old fashioned dose of delusion can you!

    The value of the youth system at United just cannot be underestimated. I mean, Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Beckham is 4 of the finest names you will ever see in midfield and playing together!
    Keane, Giggs and Beckham all went on to be International captains and the other one is a mould-breaking all-time great sensation.

    Total cost in transfers for ALL 4? : £3.75m

    Hopefully now we won't have to see the phrase 'net spend' ever again.

    The most important thing is that their net spend is smaller than ours. <whistle>

    Net spend... :emoticon-0121-angry were Liverpool fans the first to start talking about that in football? Just as they invented the position of "joint-top" (second on goal difference to me and you) back in late 2008. City fans started using this one recently too.

    When you consider the size of our respective clubs, us massive and Liverpool reasonably big, then Liverpool have spent an astronomical amount of money for very little return.

    It really does show how good our manager has been over 20 years and how bad theirs have been.

    Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure their net spend is greater than ours anyway, when you factor in the Ronaldo sale and some other big ones like Beckham, veron, Mikel, ruud etc over the years. Joint top is a total nonsense though <laugh>

    I don't know how accurate this link is, but it would suggest you are correct.

    But if you do factor in the Ronaldo sale, they usually say "You can't include Ronaldo la, that was an exception" <doh>

    City would pay that for him though wouldn't they? You'd hope so really when you see the amounts they spent on Adebayor, Milner and Lescott <laugh>

    Uniteds youth policy.

    Van de sar

    Evra Vidic Ferdinand Rafael (Ninja turtle ****nut)
    Carrick Anderson hargreaves Fletcher
    Berbaflop Rooney

    Fantastic youth system you have there....and before you start I do believe thatChelsea and Citys youth system is miles better than yours.

    Stop refering to Giggs Scholes and crusty neville when you mention "Kids"...it's history and you didn't exactly bring those up either :smiley-finger007:
