Just got back from the celebrations down in the bar.

According to some of you are Espana play really boring football. I take it tonight has changed your mind.

I just wish our team had a little of the skills the Spanish have.

    Good night.<party><party><party>

I for one wished that Italy would've won the final, Spains playing was really boring throughout the tournament, with 6 midfielders, keeping possession and passing only sideways and back all the way to keeper, trying to pass the ball to the net But in the final, we saw a different Spain, going forward with good passing and runs through, enjoyable, and completely deserved the title. By far the best team in the tournament.

oh... did you notice, was Torres first touch in the game his goal, despite being on pitch for a good few minutes before it. And think it was the same for Mata (not sure though...)

Mate...thats all you want your centre forward to do...if Cisse did that every week he could sleep for 89 mins for all i care....

    1 touch = 1 goal...thats a fantastic strike rate....yes please!!

Brilliant. A lesson. England (and Ireland) are miles behind.

To tell the truth , I do find watching football on TV as a neutral a bit boring now. Used to love it.
    They were good though<ok>

Inspired choice to select Poland and Ukraine to host this tournament.

A real lesson to those 'bigger' football countries in how to let the football be the centre of attention; very little in the way of off-field disturbances. Hats off to them

No, Spain are still dull. The odd exception doesnt disprove that.

I think the tournament was a failure and the rows of empty seats at every game, including the final prove that. It was the 1st ever Euro final not to sell out.

One game against a tired and injured and Italian team doesnt change that. Desire to keep hold of the ball means few risks taken especially in big games. Means opposition team have time to get behind the ball and force a tedious stalemate

Games that were pretty boringand certainly no classics
Euro 2008: Spain 0-0 Italy Quarter final (Spain win on pens)
    Spain 1 - 0 Germany final

    World cup 2010
    Spain 1-0 Portugal (last 32)
    Spain 1-0 Paraguay (Quarter final)
    Spain 1-0 Germany (Semi final)
Spain 1-0 Holland (Final- except for the fouls)

They have the best players in the word by far, thats what means they will win. Not the boring football.

Sadly it now means the lesser teams will try to copy them and we will have 2 teams playing that style against each other never passing the halfway line because they cant pass through a 6 man midfield.

Boring football or not...it is a legitimate way to play the game, and if Rangers or England adopted that style and used it as successfully as Spain have none of us would mind one bit. It seems to me to just be a very patient way of playing. I actually find it quite interesting to watch them pass and pass, but always looking up in search of the killer blow that takes teams apart and wins them games. That to me is more interesting than lumping the ball forward to a big man up front in hope he'll get on the end of it and make something happen.

Many are saying this is the greatest football team of all time, those of us with longer memories would say that this team, for all their qualities are not in the same class as Brazil in 1970, this was the defining moment of the greatest final of all, apologies to Italy, fall-guys again...

Congratulations to the Spanish, which played some exquisite football last night. Incredibly effective team performance, and although I wasn't on the edge of my seat, I can't blame Spain for that. They just did their job and spanked the team in front of them.

Still,(and this isn't sour grapes), as an independent, I'd rather watch Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Russia or some of the Eastern European or Balkan countries with some blood and thunder play, than ever I would want to watch Spain...
