Reminds me of that line out of the Young Ones when Rik is gazing out of the window :

'God I'm bored, I might as well be listening to Genesis' <laugh>

    They still exist but I can get past tense as there are thee Genesis;

    Gabriel Genesis.
Transition into Collins from Gabriel Genesis.
    Collins Genesis.

The first two are cracking prog rock, the third is ****e.

First album post Gabriel is still great, A Trick of the Tail, but everything after Abacab falls into third category.

Goes without saying that all the Gabriel stuff is excellent.
If prog rock is your thing of course!

lol you were bragging about Goldie's album getting to No.7 in the chart and getting good reviews and you are mocking Genesis, who have sold over 100 million albums worldwide <laugh>

AND have a career spanning 40 years!

In 40 years no one will give a solitary **** about Goldie.

He didn't have a 40 year career and over 100 million album sales though did he?

Mr Blobby probably shifted more records than Goldie

You can't argue with the musicianship of the original Genesis members.

    At all. All were/are excellent.

Even now, the remaining three of them are skilled, even if the actual music is middle of the road gash.

That says a lot about the pop charts then.

Personally, I don't mind what people are into. I find Genesis as boring as ****, but I appreciate that people like them.

Exactly, you dont last 40 years in the industry if you have no talent and at least some appeal.

    Indeed
Teletubbies got No.1 as well <laugh>
There are some artists I am not really into whom I can appreciate for their talent and what they did for music, like Elvis for example.
Goldie isn't one of those people

Occasionally something like this comes along and I like it. I then get disappointed when I invest in the artist's other work which is largely ****e. I appreciate that this won't be to everyone's (anyone's?) taste!

    Odd story about NDubz.....
I hired some kid as a temp a few years back....young black guy just moved from London.
On his first week I was speaking to him, getting to know him, and we got on the subject of music.
He was like "You ever heard of NDubz?"
me: "Yeah they are the worst thing ever, and not just in music! Dappy is a total bellend, and that other guy, what kind of ****ing name is Fazer? Total twat"
    Him: "Fazer's my cousin......"
    Me: "Erm.....Talisa is hot?"
