Glad Porto didn't play like they did in the last 20mins the whole match, the away legs going to be a tough test.

 

... for me too ... he was all over the pitch... and never panicked... unlike the defence at times ...

Mahrez / Slimani partnership is top notch ...

Also thought Hernandez did well ...one excellent saving tackle in the second half ...

To be fair nothings quite going for him at the moment. Porto played him really well.

 

Anyone else immediately think penalty? It was a damn close one and thought the card happy ref would take any opportunity to give a pen.

Think the team performed well overall, hope we can continue it in the league.

 

Superb win! Amartey was immense and is growing with confidence every game he plays. As for Slimani , what a player he is going to be for us. !!!!
They were always going to come at us 2nd half. Let's remember where we are...Champions league against Port..... a quality side who play I the CL pretty much year after year.

Watching this on TV obviously but even sitting here in my lounge was an amazing feeling as the teams came on and we saw the fearless banners. To top it off with that result was just brilliant. The search for a match day programme begins..

Amartey was amazing - Fuchs fantastic. MOTM for me was Albrighton. Sublime ball from him to Mahrez leading to the goal and a charge down to deflect the ball against our post when a goal looked inevitable (what a volley by the way). Like Amartey, he just never stopped running, but was involved in the 2 crucial points of the game. Superb fighting display all around.

 

.. for me the difference is that Amartey didn't really have any negatives on the night ... even managed to leave his boot in the mush of the odious little diving twat who had conned the ref into booking Vardy by a dive out of the wall that Tom Daly would have been proud of ... you are bang on with Albrighton's key contributions ... but he also frustrates me with the number of times he gives the ball away very cheaply and when we are in very promising positions ...

defence was very shakey at times ... that was worrying ... but a fabulous gutsy performance and brilliant end result.
