The Gaffer didn't mention any fitness problems in today's press conference, so the assumption is all okay. He did say however, that Floyd Ayite was back in the country tonight and would be in Sunday's squad. About new boy Thanos Petsos he wasn't quite so sure; has him marked for a midfield role but whether yet ready was a "maybe".

Hull have come on leaps and bounds in their last two games - Chelsea and Man Utd. Strange isn't it, they're without their main man Snodgrass and start playing decent football. McCormack comes to mind. The new boss and a couple of decent new signings have clearly played their part though. Guess the main question is what side will Marco Silva put out given they've a crucial mid week League coming up, against United again.

We're not disimilar, with the Burton game on Wednesday taking on added importance after our last two results. Some of our players, to put it kindly, looked jaded against QPR and Reading so Jokanovic may give them a rest. That said, with all the recent loans his options are fast diminishing and in fairness he appears to be taking the Cup seriously. Think he will do a wee bit of rotation but not a lot. One surprise might be wee Georgie Wiliams who seems to have found his legs again in recent U23 games - and he can score from the penalty spot, for sure!

Going to try this starting line-up for size:

    ....................Bettinelli.....................
    ..Odoi....Kalas......Ream....Sessegnon...
    .................Adeniran..Cairney...
    ...Aluko.............Piazon......Williams...
    .....................Martin.....

With Ayite and Petsos on the bench, along with the usual crop.

That should be close to the lineup that's put out since we hardly have anyone else left.

What's happened to Scott Parker ? Use Parker in the Cairney Role CM.
Use Madl in the McDonald role, Adeniran in the Johansen role

    ....................Bettinelli.....................
    ..Odoi....Kalas......Sigurdsson....Sessegnon...
    ...........Madl...........Adeniran......
    ................Parker........
    .....Aluko........Martin.....Piazon

Depends if Hull play a full squad, with losing Snodgrass?, Silva might experiment to see who he has in his locker.

On more mundane things than #Chrexit, the man looking after matters tomorrow lunchtime is Paul Tierney.

Experienced chap, who we haven't in fact seen yet this season. Mind we've been pleased to see the back of him plenty of times before. Last season it was the 1-1 draw away to Ipswich in April when he booked Scotty Parker and the 1-0 home defeat to yes ... Hull. Their goal was a penalty. That Jokanovic's first game in charge.

Continuing the coincidences sort of, the game before that was also in the 4th round of the Cup in season 2014/15. We lost 3-1 to Sunderland; he booked 8 players, 5 of ours and gave them a penalty. In the three games prior to that when he ref'd - against Watford and Sheffield Wednesday - we lost and yes ... he gave each of them a penalty.

On disciplne he's average. In his 19 games so far this season he handed out 70 yellows and 2 reds.

Just saw a clip of the players arriving at the stadium, Martin was definitely there and was talking to fans and signing autographs. No idea if this means hes part of the squad today or just travelling with them but be interesting to see when the teams announced.

    Martin starts!!

    Betts
    Odoi kalas ream sessegnon
    Mcdonald johansen
    Cairney piazon aluko
    Martin

Subs - button, madl, fredericks, malone, parker, petsos, ayite

Would like to see Williams get a place on the bench just to give us another attacking option as we are quite short of those if we need to make changes

He'd better not take a penalty.

We deserve to be leading at half time and could easily be leading by more than 1 goal. Hopefully we don't come to regret missed chances.

A nice early 2nd half goal would be nice.

Indeed Fab and Tierney gave then not only a penalty but he gave them two. Great saves by Bettinelli on both, especially for the second, which kept a scoreline that reflected the game. In fact it could have been more.

The first half was an average affair, although as Mr Hanglehand said during the break "Fulham controlled a Premiership side". After they equalised 5 minutes into the second we woke up however and for the next half an hour or so were quite simply, terrific. There was all the close passing stuff we've come to know but added to that was some clever play and more importantly great running off the ball, supplemented by numerous through passes behind their defence. Credit on those last two goes in particular to Mr Martin. In this period he came up with some really intelligent football.

All the team played a part today. Ream and Cairney were probably a shade above the rest, as was Sessegnon - and I'm giving him my MOTM.

Brilliant second half as said; sharp passing and sharp shooting. The Gaffer can be well proud of his team.

I read that Martin got a few boos early in the match, but by the time he got subbed later in the game he got a standing ovation? Anyone there to confirm the reception he got?

Certainly boos each time his name came up on the big (little) screen before the start. Wouldn't exactly say he got a "standing ovation" when subbed; more like appreciative applause.

However, when he chased down a couple of their defenders (wide right and then in the centre) in the second half he got loud cheers. As said earlier, he played intelligently in that second half and you couldn't fault his effort. His body language and that of the others suggested he was very much part of the 'team'. And he was first to go to Sessegnon after the assist for his goal (and vice versa).

Thought at 1-1 we had let them back into the game but the team stepped up a gear and some one touch football had them chasing shadows.
Good performances from Ream & Sessegnon. I've criticised Ream for lacking concentration during a game, but the last few he has been spot on, think I'd have to give him MOTM. I liked the way Bettinelli was continuously shouting at the defence keeping them alert. Second penalty save was really good, he made the odd mistake, but a few saves as well.
Martin got booed by a few everytime in the Hammersmith he went for a ball, but a friend who sits near the Putney said he couldn't hear it. His second half performance quieten them a bit, and as C58 said it was more like appreciative applause when subbed. Hope this type of attitude continues from him in League games too, rather than the refusal to play.
