http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list List of all the free transfers available atm. obviously it will change once the prem and playoffs finish. Currently there seems to be plenty of good strikers and goalkeepers avaliable on free and a few regular lower league defenders. personally i think this should allow us to spend money on cody and then take our pick from some of the quality within those players my thoughts over to you, name and shame the players
Just had a quick look and any of the following look reasonably realistic GK - Dean Brill, Jon Brain Def - Lee Beevers, Liam Chilvers, Jonathan Fortune, Jon Harley, Stephen O'Halleron MF - Simon Hackney, Marc Laird, Alan Navaro FWD - Jon Akinde, Ben Burgess, Ashley Grimes, Liam Henderson, Marvin Morgan, Reuban Reid That'll start you off. BTW interesting to see Chris Palmer on there!!
My ideas ... (I'll try to do ones not already mentioned...) GK ... Dunn, Fon Williams, Higgs, Murphy, Pidgely, Flahavan?? (Last one maybe a push on the wages!) - My point is theres LOADS out there! Others: Beckwith, CB Fenton, CB Kishisev, RB Mgleish, CF Mcindoe - Long shot but would be awesome LM Mkenzie CF Mcsweeney - RM Mirfin - CB Morgan - CF Daley - LM Carsley - CM Cowan - Hall - CF Ellison - Midfield Brooker - And theres so many more! Like a sweet shop for hess and the boys! Also i am not aware of all of these players wages so i apologise if some are unrealistic! UTG!!
Is Chris Palmer definitely leaving then or is he just advertising himself ? On a separate note, Dover defenders Matt Fish and Olly Schulz haven't signed the new contracts offered to them yet! Could the Gills be interested and maybe this is why the Dover pre season friendly was cancelled.
Yeah but we have had some bad ones from Non League like Leroy Griffin, John Nutter, Tony Sinclair, Alan Julian, Lance Cronin and others. I have heard that the two above from Dover are good, But I would not give them anything till they have a go at a trial or something.
There are some very good players on this list, I fear our cut in budget may dictate whether we get some of these... But nevertheless here are the players I hope we can lure. Shane Higgs Chris Holroyd Omar Daley Cian Hughton? I thought he was very highly rated... Paul Jones Miguel llera although I believe we wont be trying to sign any centre-backs Scott mcgleish - not neccessarily starting but he would chip in and be a good character around the squad Marvin Morgan Abdul Osman Shane Redmond Reuben Reid Matthew Sadler - Hess has links with Watford so slight possibility Tamer Tuna
I also see that Josh Wright has just been released. He was brilliant for us when he had a loan spell in the year we got promoted. Always available to receive the ball and very good passing abillity. I do believe however that we are unlikely to get him with league 1 teams undoubtedly interested and the fact that unless Jack Payne leaves, we are well covered in this position.
I think we have a major problem when it comes to signing new players, "we aren't a big club" I don't just mean size and fan base but also our image, how many players see us as their first choice must go there sort of club. Location has also always been a problem, many players don't like coming so far out. Our best chance to attract the better players has always been money/budget, the fact that we keep trimming the budget is putting us in the position of having little to offer. We will get the players who are lower league or failed to get signed by their club of choice, give it a couple of weeks when players are getting worried and the signatures will come. So I guess my answer is we will go for the ones who find they are unemployed at the end of June and just want to get a wage.
Oh for the days of buying Asaba and Super Bob.........we couldn't even afford Bob the Builders tool caddy!
i think Hessy wanted Birchall from Dover but the fee was to much as Scally wants to pay hardly nothing.
