Neil Warnock has revealed that former AC Milan midfielder Adel Taarabt asked him about the possibility of playing for Cardiff. ‬

He could still do a job at this level. I'd get him in. I can't see Fred, Ken or Chamakh here much longer and he will do a good job, but he needs to be partnered with Lambert, a poacher and target man combo.

Clicked on the link but couldn't see any reference to this.

He is certainly something we don't have at the moment. However, he is not a striker, more of a roving winger/attacking midfielder who plays with little discipline and has had major fitness and attitude issues in recent years.

In saying all of that his best spell was with Colin/Harry at QPR and if fit and on form he would be a real handful at this level - much more so than the likes of Ameobi, Zaha, Morrison and all ever were for us.

The other issues could be money and would he take a drop in pay to come to us - and would Colin want him?

    Here's his Wiki history: -

I didn't see any reference to him in the link either.

Bit of a loose cannon and from what I remember Warnock and him weren't exactly the best of buddies at QPR. Has the skills to be a good No.10 for us but I recall he had a very high opinion of himself as a player that didn't sit well with his team mates.

Seems to have drifted about a bit both here and abroad never really settling. I'd be surprised if he'd fit in with what Warnock is trying to build.

Dai - don't be so bloody sensitive. My post is about the Taarbat story and it's validity not about you.

If you can find anything else stick it up on here for us to chat about. At least people are commenting - all power to you. <ok>

    Why?

Are we bringing Taarbat AND Joey Barton in? I'd like to see them in the same dressing room again with Colin as ref......<laugh>

Probably too much baggage Jay and not really the position on the field to spend decent wages when we're so hopeless up front.

In all honesty, I'd far prefer Taarbat in the side as a decent No. 10, but we can do a lot better than him of Tan releases some dosh to Warnock.

We must focus on a goalscorer up front and not rely on the odd goal from midfield to win games.

I'd take him on a pay as you play, he worked well under Warnock in the past and at 27 if he doesn't come down to earth he won't play into his mid 30s so i think he might just see us as last chance saloon, him and Hoilett would be a terrific combo imo and if we had a pacy striker in front of them we could get play offs imo

I'd take him in a heartbeat, if he's only 27, then why not. A bit of a loose cannon, but NW can get the best out of him. Isn't he the type of player we need? Someone who can turn a game with a bit of flair when he's on form.

Historic problems with fitness and discipline and doesn't take kindly to authority - although as ccfc said he did well with Warnock 5/6 years ago - he gave us a hard time on more than one occasion. He is one of those who when things go wrong blames everyone else apart from himself.

He is known for being a poor trainer and losing fitness very quickly. Colin would need to have a really good look at him before making any commitment and pay as you play is a good idea as it puts the ball in his court. However, he has been a fairly bog earner in the past and I have my doubts as to whether he would come to us on the peanuts we will pay.

Also known for falling out with colleagues by being the Billy Big Bo££ocks.

While the upside could be very positive, he would be a big risk and the downside could be pretty bad.

On balance it's a no from me.
