    ....... for a grown up?

We've played some of the worst football I've seen in 50 years, fielded some abysmal clowns and been relegated without putting up a glove ...... yet, despite all that, I want to do a 600 mile round trip for the Swansea game.

To be honest it's partly to have a pint with, for the last time this season, some great blokes .... Gordon, RAW, Bri, etc.

But it's also because Sunderland are my club. It's very easy being 'Sunderland's biggest supporter' when things are going well, we're in the top 10 or playing at Wembley ..... any daft get can do that tbh. I want to be there to 'support' my club and the many other decent people who put their heart into SAFC.

I'm proud of my club, not the current employees, but I've been there longer than any of them and will probably outlast them. So I'll fuel the car up, set off and spend 3 days for a 'meaningless' match ....... hang on though, when I write it out it looks even crazier than when I thought it <doh>

Gluten for punishment. I've found it better for my mental health to detach myself from the club, it may make me less of a fan but it makes for healthier mind which is what I need at the moment. I envy your staying power mate. Head strong and defiant. Kudos. :)

Your one of the ones Smug, and I hope you enjoy your visit to Canny Auld Sun'land, should be a good game with the pressure off. <ok>.

I've always been a 'hard to like' stubborn sod who doesn't make friends easily .......... probably why I'm suited to being a Sunderland supporter :emoticon-0105-wink:

Little to grasp at this season but you could relegate Swansea which would be a great little way to end the campaign.

Didn't Villa effectively do the same last season to Newcastle?

We relegated Cardiff, a few seasons back, which was funny.

I mentioned it to some of the Welsh, after the game, and one of them came for me ...
.... I just stood there grinning so he turned round and walked off ;)

Well this lot have spent the last 5 years calling themselves 'Swanselona' so I for one hope they drop like an anvil.

I would prefer Swansea to drop purely because Hull is a better day out and easier travel for the away match.

Surely you'd prefer Hull to drop then?

I hate Swansea, and the Welsh in general, and I have a mate with a holiday home on that coast ...... no brainer for me.
