Semi-finals to contain the four best clubs in England: City, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal? Would be an absorbing three matches to end to the FA Cup with. Spurs v Arsenal final...
How does a top side like Arsenal play a team like Sutton? I always find that fascinating. Do we play like we usually do against top opposition, or change the way we play, and go old school rough and tumble. I would put our toughest players in the middle and add just a little flair. But not sure Wenger would like to adjust our style of play to suit the opposition, he likes what he likes. This game is perfect for the likes of Giroud, Xhaka, Elneny and Mustafi.
Meet the plasterers, teachers and builders taking on Arsenal Sutton United are getting ready to take on Arsenal in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The teams will meet for the first time in their history at Gander Green Lane in front of 5,000 fans. Millions more will be tuning in to watch it on BBC One. Arsenal players are paid millions but Sutton's players get £600 a week. That means many of them have other jobs including teachers, carers, personal trainers and builders. The Farmer Goalkeeper Ross Worner is on to a good thing. He frames football shirts for a living and is hoping to cash in on his club's big game against Arsenal. "I've been framing all the boys' shirts from all the cup games. "It's something I quite enjoy doing, being a footballer myself I had shirts I wanted framed, so I got into it. "If I can get a few (Arsenal) shirts in, it'll help the cash flow. "All the boys already said whatever shirt they get they want it framed, so work should be good for the next couple of weeks after the game."
Massive night for Sutton so I expect them to be pumped up and full of running. I reckon their could Ben periods in the game where we come under pressure, so we need to Ben fully switched on. Overall though, we just need to play our football and we should ease through this tie
My ski instructor Seriously, my phone's screen is ****ed so it doesn't keep up with my typing and and fills in the blanks
Probably the lineup i would have gone for with Xhaka and Elneny in the middle, and Gabriel and Mustafi at the back to provide enough steel. Only thing i would have changed is having Giroud up front. I don't think these guys would have handled the big man well, but Perez should be too much for them.
"I kid you not. Sutton reserve keeper Wayne Shaw is adjusting the goalposts. He plays, coaches, helps on the ground and hoovers up. He'll be repainting the lines at half-time."
Let's not be the victims of a fairytale story. Have a great chance to get to Wembley, so let's hope the players don't underestimate the challenge that lies ahead .
Monreal and Iwobi have not read each other's runs at all. Completely not on each other's wavelengths. That's a few times they've both misplaced passes because they've misread each other's play.
Stupid pull-back from Xhaka . Just no need for it. Deservedly got a yellow card. Really needs to cut that out of his game. We've not had it all our own way at all so far. Way too casual a performance.
This is a strange game...all you but very few clear chances. Think they'll get exhausted and you will run up a cricket score late on
I get that this non-league side will be playing like their lives depend on it and will raise their game more than normal, but we've really not played well at all. It's been very laboured and slow-paced. Are we just going through the motions? To be fair, we look very threatening when Sutton commit bodies forward, but they've not gone toe-to-toe, they've kept it tight and have stayed in the game. They're going to give it a real good go in the second-half so I hope we can kill this off when the match inevitably opens up. Sutton have looked threatening at times, but haven't created much at all. I could be wrong but I think Ospina's poor goal-kick led to their only chance in the game.
Can't believe nobody has mentioned the fact that Sutton should have had a free kick in your half when you "won" the ball that led to the goal.
No surprise Perez starts and gets a goal. Mind you he could score 10 in the second half and Wenger still won't give him a regular place in the league
