OK, I'm not blind. There are personal references here. Come on, Beddy. Spill the beans. Did you have a career at Saints that you've kept quiet.? I'm genuinely interested. :)

Think this little Beckham debate shows how under valued passing is as a skill set.

Possibly explains why English football is regularly criticized as being poor technically in comparison to our European cousins

The thing my late Grandad always used to say about Beckham was that he hardly ever lost the ball, and he wasn't a sideways passer either like many today.

And even though he was bombed out of OT he was always very gracious & professional. Get a gold star for that.

I do not like players who lack the courage to move forward but take the safe option and pass back or sideways. There is a time to do this and it isn't all the ****ing time.

I also hate it when a player has plenty of space around him but chooses to pass to a player more closely marked.

This season our players have been guilty of both and none more so than Cuco.

Beckham to me had talent and worked hard. What did a wise man say once?

"Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard". Beckham did both of those, hence playing for Real Madrid, Man U, PSG, Milan, England.

I actually think he did more than that. He was canny. He was well advised. His career went further than normal for a player of his ability. Fair play to him.
