Happy with the win. Giroud has consistently been our super sub but I hope in games like these he starts. Disappointing from Chamberlin, he missed so many sitters it was criminal. Hopefully we play a weakened side against Ludogrets next week because we've got a tough fixture ahead: Tottenham at home, United away and PSG at home. Thank goodness we have players coming back from injury.
Giroud should be a majority starter, especially against a struggling side. He will consistently get goals over the course of the season. But we shouldn't be scared to change up if someone is underperforming. But agreed on rotating, we don't need a full strength team against ludogrets. Drop oxil, bellerin, Sanchez and bring in others.
I doubt he will, we haven't exactly got a record of playing great away from home in the group stages and if we drop points there it will be Barcelona in the last 16
The arguments for Giroud starting up front just don't hold any weight. Sanchez has 8 goals and 4 assist in 11 games upfront this Season. Giroud just cant match those numbers. People forget Giroud scores in patches he has a hot streak followed by a draught. He's never scored more than 22 goals for us in a Season. If Sanchez stays fit he'll go 30+.
Still was a good performance today. Thought Gibbs looked good at Left Back. Nice to see Spurs and United dropping points also.
Giroud should start in games with stubborn defences such as Burnley and Boro. As for next week's CL game, Sanchez, Ozil and Coq should be rested. I know away games are tough but we should be able to tuck away Ludogorets with a half 2nd string squad. I'm hoping the team for Wednesday will be.. Ospina Jenkinson Gabriel Holding Gibbs Xhaka Elneny Chamberlin Ramsey Iwobi Giroud. And then have our strongest 11 for next Sunday. Cech Bellerin Mustafi Kosch Monreal Coq Xhaka/Elneny Walcott Ozil Iwobi Sanchez Presuming Cazorla will still be out
Only got updates on my phone today, was cacking myself when it went to 1-1, and the next time I looked at my phone it was 1-4 Happy days
