Lost in translation? my MF 3 includes Gini... the "option to come from the bench" was about Can..

Ah read it wrong. Though you said and Gini is a good option from the bench.

    My bad <whistle>

Klopp apparenty gave squad a chance to opt out of Sunderland game if they were too tired, but no one did.

Bit of a mistake? Does it put the notion that they are tired into their minds and subconsciously give them an excuse to underperform and blame it on that?

we didn't get Lallana into the game at all yesterday. Henderson was missed big time and it showed what he brings to the team. his energy and pace frees up lala to romp forward.

A classic Liverpool result that one.

Could see it from a mile away.

We keep going however, as usual.

If we're struggling with the amount of games indicating a thin squad - how are we going to be next year with European football?

Indicates big transfer movement required in the summer.

European football is great and for a club like ours essential.

But no doubt puts pressure on our resources and our future chase for the title. We need to strengthen and by a fair bit.

That was always the assumption though wasn't it?

Like i dunno about dortmund squad but i looked back to 2013/14 http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2013/clubs/club=52758/squad/

the dortmund team had far more players in it that you'd call really senior guys than we have right now

    for example in midfield

    Sebastian Kehl 9
    Sven Bender 11
    Moritz Leitner 4
    İlkay Gündoğan 12
    Mario Götze 11
    Marco Reus 13
    Jakub Błaszczykowski 10
    Nuri Şahin 4
    Oliver Kirch

now ok they played a slightly different system but the point is that they actively played 8 players i nthe CL campaign that year in midfield alone. We don't HAVE 8 midfielders to put together!

then in defence they had 6 players who played (no of games beside them)
    Neven Subotić 11
    Mats Hummels 11
    Kevin Grosskreutz 10
    Łukasz Piszczek 12
    Felipe Santana 7
    Marcel Schmelzer 13

So IMo klopp must know that he's got a squad for exactly the number of games he has and no more.

But how much transfer activity does LFC really need?

well.... IMo klopps never had an awesome goal keeper so i actually don't buy this line he will bring in yet another keeper this summer.

therefore keepers COULD be Mingolet, Karius, Ward next year. I dunno but it could be.

Defence. Its going to be interesting.

Clyne, TAA, Matip, Lovren, Klavan and milner are all shoe in surely so that really says ok is joe gomez the guy.. is moreno... will he buy here again? I don't know. I hope he does but we will see. I think another CB like matip and we are away personally but who knows.

CM.. Lucas must be off. henderson wijnaludm and lallana... then its really just can isn't it. ok ok stewart is the bang average alternative and theres grujic and ejaria and young lads. I definitely see 2 needed here.

UP front. Coutinho frimino mane. Origi. assume sturridge will be off.... the crock that is ings must be off. so yeah thats interesting. We now have 4 central strikers for one slot really and only 2 guys for the wide areas.

I could see 2 more buys here.

    so.

We could buy 5 players or only 3 depending on klopps impression of young players like ojo, ejaria, grujic, gomez and others in u23s. I don't think 3 or even 5 is all that huge an add.... if they are the right quality.

It seems our terrible point just ended up getting us 1 point closer to chelsea.

If offered to close the gap before this round 20 people would surely have taken any narrowing of the 6 point gap.

Im sure soneone will day but it could have been down to 3 but ffs..... roll on the cups! Great stuff.

Nice catch up by Spurs, I don't see any reason for them to drop off any time soon either.

Could have been 3 though :bandit:

tricky one, would you prefer all top 6 win so no changes or 1 above lose and you draw so narrow the gap but also gap behinds you narrows.

Your rhetorical question is a no brainer. All top 6 winning cannot happen if Spurs are playing Chelsea. But even when not playing each other given the choice you would choose the second one. The first option does not narrow the gap if you want to win the title. But you then have to pray that no one behind you wins otherwise the team taking advantage of the leaders potential collapse would be them not you. The pack is so bunched up that this loss by Chelsea benefits almost everyone else in the pack.

If you are more concerned about a CL place then you want the first option as you keep the gaps as they are.

I have faith we are good enough to keep going and know without europe we have a decent shot.

Id rather we blow up like spurs and end up 4th than be scraping for it and fail put it that way.

As of now city look in disarray. Thats one of the 6 who need work. Spurs are coming back on but have a history of just blowing out. Arsenal have a long tradition of blowing up then ending up 4th

We have no form to go on. All we can go do is listen to klopp and see if we cant accumulate points as we go and see where we are un 8 or 10 games time.
