Fans from 70 football clubs to boycott The Sun http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...tball-clubs-liverpool-sheffield-a7820391.html Sent via @updayUK Never bought a copy so no biggie for me. Others?
The problem with this is that if you don't read right-leaning media, you end up taking the left-leaning media's word as gospel (and vice versa, of course). Get your news from across the spectrum and you'll probably be able to work out the truth somehow.
Thought this was a skin cancer scare story at first. Let's have a whip round for Liverpool fans in general, because of course, they were all victims. Be sure not to mention those that died at Heysel though, you'll upset the scousers.
Marvellous......maybe they believe that clubs should refuse to take the cash from Sky seeing how Murdoch controls that organ as well.......thought not.
Absolutely correct. The Guardian, the BBC, The 'i' and the Mail as a reasonable spectrum but there are others no doubt.
I think a pertinent question is why has it taken 28 years to ask for a ban? As Tramore points out, if they really are principled they would insist that the Sky money be refused as well, particularly Liverpool FC...
The people of Liverpool have boycotted the Sun for years anyway (on both the red and blue side) as far as I'm aware. I wouldn't have thought sympathy was reliant on the recent events so just surprised it wasn't done earlier. They can count me as a long term supporter just because I don't buy it anyway.
