Roma have made a £32m take it or leave it offer for Mahrez and we are leaving it. Liverpool are really interested if Courtiniho goes. Chelsea will make a bid around £20m for Drinkwater which will most likely be rejected as well - there is no indication from Danny that he wants to leave which is the intention of such a low bid. Mendy apparently has been offered a way back into the team - could just be a coincidence that it is around the time Drinkwater is linked away... Hull are favourite to sign Musa but if they have the funds to do so is another matter - apparently we aren't willing to loan him.
Roma are pissing me off now - we have been very clear on the valuation and they haven't even got close and have been too vocal and stubborn. Can't see Chelsea paying the money wanted for Drinkwater. I thought Mendy had gone!? Could be useful if not
Yeah and setting an ultimatum! **** off Roma. They are trying to get him and his agent to force it for a lower price
Agree. How dare Roma give US an ultimatum?! He is our player and if we want 45-50 million for him then it is up to them to pay up or shut up. Can't see Drinkwater getting much game time at Chelsea, except for the cups (not the CL though) Mendy has hardly had a kick for us, so how can anyone judge him? I was also hoping Lawrence would stay. Think he will be an asset for us in a number of positions.
Related to this topic but I've just seen that there's a proposal to cut short the transfer window https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp....e-shorter-transfer-window-meeting-7-september In principle I agree entirely with this as look at all the players 'injured' who just happen to be centre of transfer speculation (Sigurdsson, Sanchez, Coutinho and even Drinkwater) and players who could be seen to be trying to avoid injury because they want to move which is what I personally think Mahrez did when shrinking out of the challenge they score from. The problem is that other leagues would be open still so Premier league clubs could find themselves being pillaged by European teams and not able to replace. It's a nice thought that the clubs could refuse point blank due to this be we know what players are like now. IMO all leagues should agree this and make the change
Problem is that we don't have a replacement and if we are getting rid of Lawrence as well, we only have Albrighton and Thomas who won't be square pegs in round holes. Why the hell we aren't after a new RB as well is ridiculous - Amartey has proved that he is average there at best.
Dreadful idea. Will weaken the entire league. It just won't work when all other leagues have more time. Clubs abroad will come in last minute for players who they hadn't previously bid on, thurmaston their heads and then be left without a player or a half-hearted player.
I can only assume someone must be coming in otherwise we'd be better off just to take the loss on him
Exactly, like I say, it was across the board it'd be good so as not to interrupt with games but not just for us
Also after all the saga, Swansea have accepted £40m + £2.5m from Everton for Siggurdson. Great negotiating by them
That can't be right! I distinctly remember Champions saying that he wouldn't possibly sign for Everton over us! I'm now starting to doubt everything he ever said.
Superb signing for Everton who will provide the quality to win those tight games or games where they are off form Lawrence is a superb signing for Derby - very similar player to Ince but with arguably more goals in him. Now we need a winger - I watched the U23s game online and no one there seemed good enough to step up. Unless Musa is seen as the back-up winger?
We have bi £2M for George Hirst apparently - is one for the academy but I have heard really good things about the lad. Watford are after Slimani - if they are daft enough to pay around £40m then I'd take it for someone so injury prone. Drinkwater to Chelsea is picking up steam - I'd say milk them as much as we can and make them pay more then they got Kante for if only to see the Chelsea fans meltdown.
Slimani is worth it for around £35m which probably won't happen but their manager had him at Lisbon and got the most out of him so might be tempted. Drinkwater I really hope stays
Robert Snodgrass has been made avalible by West Ham either by transfer or loan I wouldnt mind getting him on loan. Or if the fee is reasonable
