Then why is Gibson an international player and Maguire isn't? Without checking I assume he is English.
I haven't seen much of Gibson whereas I saw Maguire a lot for a Sheff Utd. I think that maybe Gibson is seen as more fashionable for some reason. I expect Maguire will be good enough to play for England given the dross we currently play but whether he'll get a fair crack as a Leicester player is another question
I personally disagree. Think from what I have seen of the two (granted handful of occasions) Harry looks the better defender and footballer. Excellent on the ball.
Not always that straight forward when it comes to being selected for England. If Maguire is a regular for us week in, week out and performing well, I expect he will be given a chance with England at some point. Cant be any worse then Cahill/Smalling/Jones for god sake
Gibson seems more the no nonsence defender we are used to whereas Maguire looks like he can offer us something different coming out of defence.
I checked all stats and compared for both players and Maguire beats Gibson in every area apart from passing accuracy and number of times beaten. Gibson 84% and Maguire 76/78% can't remember which and 0.2 per game versus 0.6 but then that has a lot to do with players around them too. Maguire is the better option and by far the better value for money and let's face it, he'll be in the England squad ahead of Gibson and Keane moving forward because if they move neither will be first choice and if they don't well one plays for Burnley and the other Boro so it won't be too difficult for Maguire to push ahead of them both.
Rumours that we are after Michael Appleton as Shakespeare's No 2 - they both know each other from their West Brom days. As a manager he has been unspectacular to be polite but might make a decent assistant manager. On another note, Ahmed Musa says that his crappy form last season was down to his "marital problems" - police were called in April after a domestic but he wasn't charged with anything but he has since gotten divorced and remarried.
We are being linked with Luis Muriel from Sampdoria - he was good on Football Manager back in the day and apparently is more then half decent in real life.
... I wouldn't read too much into that ...plenty of excellent footballers never got England caps ... I've every hope that Maguire will in the future ... would you have said Michael Keane would be a future England when he was with us on loan? ... or at the point United sold him to Burnley?
Skybet suggesting we are favourites for Iheanacho. Would be a good signing, but unsure how he'd fit into the side. https://www.skybet.com/football/specials/transfer-specials Also rumours we have enquired about Delph.
