If Wenger was pressured to spend money on certain positions, I'd rather it was for a defensive mid/box-to-box mid and a poacher. If we have a generous transfer kitty like some people are suggesting, then by all means strengthen at left back.
Main area of concern is the left back spot. Get rid of Santos and bring a moderately experienced left back. No point bringing in an 18 year old when our main left back Gibbs is still young. We need proper cover when Gibbs goes for a Moby Dick.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...a-transfer-Arsene-Wenger-joins-the-chase.html The latest Zaha rumours. **** source, though.
Not a transfer rumour as such, but according to the Fail, we're giving Super Jack a new contract, and Wenger is planning on making him captain in the future.
Dont forget wilshere is just coming back from injury, arteta needs to b rested at some points and santi can play in the front 3 - theres plenty of need for rotation and plenty of need for a strong dm in the big games/against good counter attacking sides
I'm sorry but I find the news that Jack will be one of the top earners ridiculous. He had a good season, and then missed a complete season, just came back, still being 20, and he becomes one of our top earners? What!? Why not just add a condition to renew the contract terms after he has a longer spell, say 2-3 years down the road?
I expect to see LFC and Chelsea splash out big in January. We won't get anyone because we've got a load of players coming back from injury. The fact that these players are all injury prone and will probably be back on the treatment table in early Feb won't come to anyone's mind. It's like having a team of fellas like that Samuel L Jackson character from Unbreakable.
Man city fans are certainly getting into the spirit of things! http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=272558&sid=55bb7259a29ad320d715fcb38420e3e5
They want more? Let's see how all their previous transfers from Arsenal worked out. Kolo Toure - Banned for a while for taking his wife's diet pills, squad player, cost them £15 Mil and his wages are huge. Samir Nasri - £20 odd Million for a player that only turns up in patches. Adebayor - With that track record, I am surprised they want more.
