OK so a bit early and I'm really struggling to see how we would be making any sort of offers, or expressing any interest in anyone if we are in the midst of a radicle restructuring, but Apparently we are after:

    £10m Porto striker Vincent Aboubakar
    Tyler Roberts from West Brom

We might do business early this coming window. We definitely won't leave it to the 11th hour and pick up the dregs (Like with the manager!)

    Bah!

A lot will depend on who we offload and at what cost. We need to trim the deadwood and the wage bill to have any chance at all of funding the required new players that are so desperately needed.

Any new manager coming in would want some say in what players we bring in. So I don't take these reports too seriously.

So who's out of contract and likely to leave? Who is likely to leave but not out of contact?

Ruddy (though has a 1 year option!!!), Bennett, Bassong, Whittaker are all out of contract this summer - there may be more and I'd love to see Martin and Naismith leave as well.

Hope we move Ruddy on, and bring back Rudd, simply because of age differences.

Likely to leave but not out of contract:
Klose, likely to leave presently on loan: Dijks
Out of contract fans would like to leave: Bennett, Bassong and Whittaker. So that's the majority of the preset defense......Do we foresee 3/4 defenders being brought in?Feels like big changes afoot

IF we get Moss from Celtic, rumour control of that he'll persuade a GK, CB and LB to follow him!!

Who'd have thought we'll have another transfer window with a desperate need for defenders? Groundhog Day!

    That's total Sh*te.

Aboubakar is a beast! He's like a Lukaku and Benteke. That is just like the Quintero & Alderwierld rumours from a few seasons ago. He'd never come to us.

Tyler Roberts, maybe on loan, but West Brom probably wouldn't sell a prospect like that.

Pretty sure I read yesterday that Declan Rudd will be out of contract and is wanted by Karl Robinson back at Charlton if there's any chance?

Yes, they're definitely keen to keep Rudd.

This is why we need a new gaffer appointed ASAP. So he has a few games of this season left to run the rule over the existing squad and sort the wheat from the Bassongs, Turners, Naismiths etc <ok>?

I think I posted elsewhere a couple of days ago, but as far as I'm aware the following are out of contract:
    Ruddy
    Bassong
    Turner
    Bennett
    Whittaker
    Mulumbu
    Lafferty
    Thompson
    McGrandles

Of that list I'd want to keep Bennett, Thompson and McGrandles, maybe Ruddy as understudy to Rudd. Leaving us 5/6 squad players down.

That still leaves us with the following players who are 30 or over:
    McGovern
    Jones
    Martin
    Tettey
    Hoolahan
    Jarvis
    Naismith
    Jerome

What has Rudd done that's that great to justify Ruddy as his under study. Indeed Rudd at 26 is far from a young prospect and should probably be moved on. Charlton is about his level. Neither Ruddy nor McGovern are anywher near past it in age terms for a keeper at this level.

I am pretty sure Thompson is not out of contract this year. If he is, then heads should roll.

I see that the name of Sebastian Haller is being raised again in the press. No way would he consider us just like he wouldn't before.

It would appear unlikely, but if he has not got a bigger move or more money than we're offering after another season, perhaps we represent his best offer? A lot will depend on his season and who we have in charge. But as has been said, it seems very unlikely we're actively persuing anyone as our SD and HC are not even in the building yet.

    Bah!
