Interesting that Dynamo have managed to get Dragovic and Lens. Could they possibly challenge Shakhtar?

Hahaha, I hadn't actually seen that before.

    What a poorly-constructed sentence.

Belhanda and Benoit Tremoulinas, too, as well as Mbokani who's already scored 5 in the opening 3 games of the league I believe. Shakhtar have certainly topped back up on South American talent but Willian, Fernandinho and Mkhitaryan leave a huge hole in their team so they need them to step up quickly.

Shakhtar have Wellington Nem now. I only know of him from FM, but if the game is accurate then he might just fill that hole. They also have Douglas Costa and Alex Teixeira so I think they can still put a pretty fearsome squad together. Facundo Ferreyra is another new signing, and another FM gem. I'm tempted to say they've got it covered, but I'm sure they can afford to splash out if they fancy it.

Indeed familiar with them along with Fred and Fernando, but out of them only seen Nem and Fred live and only the once each, all great talents in their own right but fact is that Mkhitaryan, Willian and Fernandinho were probably Shakhtar's three best players, at least in my book, so they're still relying on relatively unproven players to fill a pretty large hole in their side. Not a huge problem as the Ukranian league isn't really much stronger than the Brasileirao so the step up won't be huge in that regard (though more so for Ferreyra), how they go in the CL will be the most interesting as they were very impressive last year. Point is that Kyiv have probably improved as a team much more than Shakhtar have, so they will certainly be feeling much more heat on their backs, although Shakhtar are probably still £50m in profit from their business to this point with Dynamo towards that mark in the other direction.

Funnily enough they play this Sunday, was planning to watch it but had forgotten so glad you reminded me.

West Ham apparently. Although it could be West Brom, Everton, us or most likely another season at City with a new boss.

I'll be watching it too. I think Dynamo have made very ambitious signings, but I'm concerned with the mentality of some of the players. I saw a rumour that Belhanda wanted to leave, less than 24 hours after signing! Also Brown Ideye is a massively selfish striker who might still score plenty of goals against the poorer teams in the league but could hold them back a bit.

Unless Shakhtar do make a big move for a proven AMC, they'll be playing quite a young side and hoping for them to fulfil their potential. I still think they've got a decent amount more class in their side than Dynamo, but not enough to improve on their last Champions League campaign, and I suspect that's what the board are aiming for.

About a month ago he was apparently set to join Dortmund, but this has been one hell of a saga. I can't say I've seen what all these teams see in him.
