YESSSSSSSSSS! Great win 3-2! Well done lads, and Blackburn get last minute equaliser at Wigan. Results gone our way...
What a result. 3 of our 4 wins this season have been away from home. Thoughts or am I reading too much into this?
id have been a happy bunny with a point today but to get 3 is a massive brucie bonus! well done boys!!
Well done Sir Neil and the lads. Massive win and confidence booster before we go to Norwich. No doubt Pullis will have a rant. Fair nuff if they should have had pen. Swings, roundabouts etc. Roll on next home game!
Pulis was strangely muted in the interview, moaning about all the goals they are giving away. He thought there were two penalties but who cares? WE WON!!!
NW got his tactics and team selection spot on. Drafting in Clint Hill to defend the set pieces better and moving Traore to left midfield which caused Wilkinson all sorts of problems with his pace. Every player stood up to be counted today, subs included, but have to give special credit to HH. He's shorter than me(1,77m) for christ sake! but still terrorised Stokes giants, we've got our 20 goal a season striker lads. Move along now
Pish! Well played QPR, but Stoke should have known better than to let you lads pass the ball around until you unlocked us. Huth was very poor for your second, got dragged out of position and left his man completely open. Thought we'd gotten back into it when Barton (****er) fouled Huth in the area, but you got away with it. As Pulis said, you can't concede three at home, and then blame everything on one (albeit one of many) bad decision from the ref
First of all, congratulations to QPR on their win. Now that that's out of the way. Deep breath.... We started the game very well, had a stone wall penalty early on when Pennant was tripped but we scored minutes later so didn't cost us. We put Kenny under pressure and could've had a 2-0 with that Crouch chance. Then several baffling decisions from the ref and the players let it get to them. They were clearly agitated by the poor refereeing and the QPR players clearly sensed this and moved in for the kill. A superb cross from Traore for the goal and a great header from Helguson but what Wilkinson was doing I have no idea, you shouldn't assume the ball will go out and it wasn't great marking by either Huth or Shawcross, not sure who. We could've had another penalty through a handball but the referee decided he didn't see that one. The players heads dropped and started sitting deep, QPR broke down the right, Higgy got done and it was a reasonably simple finish for Young. We started the 2nd half poorly, QPR came out of the traps and got a goal which Sorensen should've prevented. Poor keeping. We then had a real go, got the balls into the box, but QPR either got the rub of the green when it fell loose in the area or they were quicker to the 2nd ball. 2 big chances at the end for Whelan, should've at least hit the target with the 2nd one. Onto the Mr Pennant. Just how ****e has he been lately? At least when Matty was playing poor, he was showing an ounce of effort. This guy clearly doesn't give a **** as he knows he won't be replaced as he's one of only 3 wingers at the club, the other being out on loan.
Fair and good assessment Sgtpotter...thanks for the thread. I enjoyed all good natured posts. All the best to you & yours for the rest of the season.
Cheers mate. I was hoping not to sound bitter. QPR played ok today, not spectacularly well but did a lot basics right which our players cannot seem to do at the moment.
