Wright...Well before the pens Nelson Herd....Yeah, yeah I know, but his bullish attitude stopped a first half runaway train. 4th Byrne
1.Wright - well taken penalties under what must have been a lot of pressure. 2. Nelson - despite the 'howler' he made two great saves to keep us in the game 3. Dack - continued to 'try' when all seemed lost at 0-2 and the foul on his surge in the penalty area started the comeback. 4. The Referee - for not cheating and having the 'bottle' to award more than one penalty
Wright (to take and score all3 pens under pressure ☺) Nelson could have been mom if not for second goal. Bryrne continues good form
1. Wright. 2. Byrne. 3. Dack. I know I've missed Nelson and his couple of saves, but for me he could of done better for both goals, also on throwing the ball out on one occasion he was very lucky.
I felt that Herd missed out on a lot of credit for his first half performance against a very strong Scunthorpe side. They were ready to steam roll us...And I had three thoughts: Stop hoofing it - slow the game down - get stuck in hard on them. The latter Herd contributed too and as a consequence suffered for it. Sometimes you need a Charlie Lee in the team and Herd fitted that role nicely. I think supporters can be way to critical as sometimes you can't get forward but you have to play crazy gang tactics. To me Herd set the foundations for our second half turnaround, I know for sure their number 14 had second thoughts about getting close again, and to me proof in the pudding was when they were trying to get him sent off.
Hea Herd was very lucky not to get sent off. people in front of me said he did elbow number 14. I did not see it so was not certain.
I've already had this debate today elsewhere and it got quite heated. Most I accept will disagree with me but I stand by my belief if it was not for Herd we would have been battered by a goal feast without him. Sometimes you have to play with a percentage of risk. Now many will call that cheating but no worse than grown men that act out rolling about like toddlers.
